Thank you @suke for that info! I think I'll look around for a pro to do it. I just don't have the patience myself. I'm super stoked to find out it's repairable!
I agree with @suke a detailer should be able to polish that out I think. If it's really deep through the gelcoat they can repair the gelcoat and polish it out.

I have the stock roller on my trailer still because we can't get the Stoltz rollers up here for a reasonable price, and no scratches at all due to hand loading. But I'm careful to winch it up and snug it so it doesn't move on the roller.

I have an AR250 on order and will need to trailer it home about 1200 miles when it finally comes in. As such, have been looking for roller replacements which have been completely out of stock everywhere! I just noticed today Sturdy Built Trailer has them back in stock for the 250 (or at least I think these are the right ones?!): 4 Inch Stoltz Semi-V Bow Roller Kit-25430-K It's the RP-446 and bells (doesn't list the bell specifically). Hope that helps.
Worst case scenario - if you can't get a new roller, wrap a rag/towel over the roller and zip-tie it on to protect the bow if you're worried. But if you make sure the bow is snug up against the roller, you shouldn't have any issues trailering. The bow won't move when snug so no rubbing. If the bow is bouncing, then the boat is not snug against the roller and tower.

Man, I wish the guy who owned my boat before me followed that procedure. He just powered it all the way up to the roller, so the boat new has massive scrapes and scratches on the bow. :-( I wish there was an easy way to get those out.
Some people just don't care about their toys...we're not rich enough to be like that.

Man, that is no lie! Several things on this boat give me that impression. Including this gem... don't even get me started. :rage: PXL_20210413_212341870.jpg

Not even sure what to do with that.

What's that...a smuggling port?
😜
If it's cut out, can you not support the piece and put some glass over it to seal it up, and replace the carpet piece?

LOL! That's what it looks like.

With the all weather carpet in there, I'm not sure how to get a good seal from the top. I was thinking maybe some gorilla tape underneath the front part, just to hold it in place, then epoxy the back side to that expanded foam stuff, since it makes contact there. Then just go around the cut with some kind of epoxy to seal it off. I'm just spit-ballin', though.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot! Looks like several folks had trouble removing the backing... I wonder if they thought it was double-sided. 😜

Back to the original topic... I ordered the Stoltz 3.5 " RP-355 1/2" Hole with 5" caps last night. They are on backorder but should be in stock and on the way to me in about 10 days.

So excited! I'll be installing this tomorrow. Now, I just have to deal with the scrapes from the original roller...

I'm going to try this method today. My boat is not perfectly centered in the rear at the sten. About 2" off center. Thanks!
How did it work out for you? I find that sometimes the transom may be an inch to the left/right if there's a wind pushing the boat when I pull it out of the water, but that's close enough - you just need to have the boat centered enough to distribute the weight between the strakes. And trailering 5mins down the road toward home it settles itself into place and I just re-tighten the straps a bit to snug them up - the straps don't need to be really tight either, they're just there to keep the boat safely in place.

Last time out was much better. I had moved my winch tower back 3". So the tongue weight is better, and it does align up better on the bunks. But like you said, the wind can push it off center very easily, unless you have someone back there to hold it.

C'Mon...... Get the Guides, 1" max from side of boat. Game changer for loading, especially for the inexperienced, in a wind, chop or current.

My hull midship is wider than the stern. If I only leave 1" clearance, it will be too tight I don't power my boat on or off, I use dock lines. The water level is very low at numerous lakes here in CA.

We have the same hull, I am pretty sure and I can go take a picture of mine.

So when your drive on, it clears the posts, you don't have to flex them? If that's the case, I'll move them in.

No. But I will pay special attention the next time I launch and load. I get the boat moving 1 mph or 2 mph at the trailer lined up for the most part, and as soon as the bow passes the guide posts I cut the engines and start walking to the front. It jostles a bit and sits perfect on the bunks and I hop off hook up and crank the last couple few feet or so. Then do the 5mph stop as I am coming out of the water, snug winch and put on safety chain and pull out to load staging area. Same routine over and over again.

Could video it to show and verify what I am seeing.

So you're able to jump off from the bow? It hurts just thinking about that. I'm not a young man. lol

I can, but I usually go out over the side of the bow onto the dock if possible. If not I lay face down on the bow and spin around and then lower my legs and stand on trailer. I have seadek on the trailer there so I get good traction. Then I can step into the water.

Guy was laughing at me for a second till he saw how easy it was to get down and finish winching boat. I looked over and he gave me the "Thumbs Up".

I am 53 and feel it some days, so I make things as easy as possible. :)
