I hope the raw water shower is powered by a dedicated wash down pump so you wouldn't have to run the boat's engine to use it. It would not take much for yamaha to transfer the keel / rudder design to the rest of their jet boat models (aside from the 240 series) since it's just a modified ride plate and steering nozzle and would be a lot cheaper and easier than redesigning the hull as was done with the 240 series boats.

I don't fish enough to ever consider buying a cc boat but my neighbor has owned three that I know of and they were / are all boston whalers. When I asked why he said they one key feature that made his wife comfortable with him and his son going out on it, even off the coast, was that it is unsinkable (because of all foam used in its construction).

jet-wash-washdown-system.jpg I can only assume that it's connected to the pump. If you notice in this picture the engine is running.

Yeah, that's where they are getting the water. I noticed those when I reworked my outdrive bearings. They aren't drilled through to the inside but easily could be. Seems like a weird thing to have added years ago by Yamaha and then never take advantage of it. For me it's largely useless. If this boat is really for the gulf coast market, I think people would rather have a fresh water wash down instead of pumping salt water into the boat. Maybe that's just me, I don't fish but I want as little salt on things as possible.

Squirt gun....Not sure you would get enough pressure there without some serious rpms. (I think you just wanted to post "nipple" te he he!)

It seems the boat was fairly well thought out, except for the fact that the 190 series (in my experience) isn't very good on big water which is what I am reading this boat seems to be marketed towards. I've never boated on the ocean before, but I think if I was going out on the coast I think I would want a deeper hull. I've gotten rocked in my 192 just on large, busy lakes. It would probably be be awesome on Lakes however. It should be able to compete with the bass boat market with such a shallow draft.

Is that extra nipple (no scaramanga jokes needed) not used on PWC's for the water tail?
I think you're correct. I believe mine have the same thing.

That would make sense. They just don't drill it for us.

It would be cool to route one out each side with an electric valve so you could pull up next to another boat and squirt them with the push of a button.

Or it would be cool to hook it up to a electric ball valve and fill ballast on the fly , example if I just fill the front ballast on my boat it makes for a real smooth ride , I could hook that up and fill it on the fly to smooth the ride , or if I'm wake boarding , there would be no ballast filling down time !!!! I'm sure it would take longer than my other pumps but I could fill while pulling the rider !!

We used to do that in high school with our cars' windshield washer nozzles. The old ones were typically mounted on the horizontal surface between the hood and the windshield. Rotate one 90 degrees to the right on the passenger side and - voila! - instant powered squirt gun.

CAUTION: Windshield washer fluid does not feel very good in the eyes (don't ask me how I know ;):D)

This is not an offshore big water boat. It's not marketed for it either. The Gulf coast region has barrier islands and back channels that you would fish on.

Yamaha gave @Murf'n'surf a collection of high resolution photos at the show. Here are a few that I found most interesting.

First up is this over head shot which does a great job of illustrating how much space is found in the 190 FSH.

190 FSH_Overhead_01 Silo.jpg

This photo shows the storage area and power sockets under the helm.

1458-FSH 190_Helm Storage_01.png

This photo shows an aftermarket chart plotter / fish finder installed in the dash. The black gauge in the middle is a Ritchie brand compass. Two of the power switches are labeled ACC and I assume ready for installation of your preferred add ons. Livewell and Jet Wash switches are located on the lower switch panel.

This picture shows the Jet Wash hookup inside the boat. I want to know where to buy that hose.

This shows the large twin storage compartments in the bow.

1458-FSH 190_Twin Storage_02.jpg

This photo shows the keel and rudder well.

The next three photos show the jump seat which is found on both sides of the boat. The round port to left of the jump seat is labeled "Fire Port". This is a new addition to the Yamaha product line. The house and starter batteries are found under the port jump seat.

This dual battery space is provided in the helm storage / head compartment to provide for a 24 volt trolling motor. The 190 FSH is designed to have 4 batteries on board.

Does this model have the option of top off or does it stow somewhere on the boat?? It would be hard to cast standing next to the helm with the top on.

This boat was modeled to go after 1 SPECIFIC market. That served by NauticStar. Nothing more, nothing less.
Look at the market this company (N/Star) serves and you'll understand where Yamaha is placing this boat.
This information comes from 1 of the primary consultants Yamaha used during the conceptualization/design stage of this project.

IMO the boat needs to be a couple of feet longer, and needs more seating, its rated for eight but it doesn't look like it would seat eight.
Lou, the power has already been addressed as this is equipped with the same engine as the current SX and AR190 models. The seating for 8 is shown better on the photo below. I have numbered the seats where 7/8 are pop up jump seats.

The canvas can be taken off easily but the top would have to be unbolted and left at home if you wanted to run without a top. Generally speaking, I think you have to alter your cast to a sidearm toss with any CC boat while next to the console.
