How the hell do I fix this?

It looks like an excellent place for mounting a phone holder or some other item that fills/covers the hole and serves a purpose. Why have an expensive repair, when you can have some new cool thing?

    Lake George Florida

If you bowfish, Salt Springs offers some good opportunities. We shot very big mullet in March one year, but the big draw is the Tilapia; they come in from Lake George in the winter. They hold in the big bowl where the boat ramp/marina is located.

engine overheating/build up in cooling system

So far, I have been cautious and probably mostly lucky, and I have not touched bottom. I have not been to Fish Tails; I am out of Landings Harbor so Crab Shack, AJ's and Tubby's (Thunderbolt) are close. I looked at Google Maps; that cut does look very small. Good advice on the thermostat...

engine overheating/build up in cooling system

What did you flush with - CLR? I boat in salt so I flush with Salt Off every time; it is a mild acid and soap mixture. I wonder if would help your situation if you used it often to prevent build up; the acid should do the job.

    Removing a bees nest

If you know where the only entrance/exit is, simply apply some residual insecticide (indoor rated Ortho Home Defense); spray it around the opening. As they come and go, they will all die - it will take a day or two. After they are dead, rinse the area and remove the nest to prevent new hatchlings.

    Stick wedged in impeller/housing

You should be able to take care of it. It is covered under the FAQ section. https://jetboaters.net/faq/view/jet-pump-maintenance.10/#faq-26

Anyone build a "car port" for their boat? know height/width needed for 242x?

I do not know what kind of zoning or HOA restrictions you may face, but you might want to look at a steel carport. They are one of the most cost effective solutions. We have some land up in Northern Georgia, and we had two steel carports installed (one over our RV site {concrete pad, county...

    Depth Gage Accuracy

You are typically seeing the amount of water under the boat or the distance to thick vegetation (especially if you are in shallow water with thick, short vegetation on the bottom) in some instances. Your boat has different drafts - on plane versus at rest. My boat has a specified draft of 16...

Salt Away - Salt water survival tips

Any of these products are a mild acid. Good synthetic wax should resist it fairly well; I use Griot's Poly Wax. For extra protection, I have been applying Griot's Ceramic Spray On Wax every 6 months as a topper to the regular wax. Forget all of the ceramic hype, Griot's Ceramic Spray On Wax...

Fsh190 Stbd deck slow/no drain afternoon project

Once you get the drain hose cleaned out, just use a hose with a rag as a gasket to flush your scupper drains periodically. I flush mine every 3 or so months or anytime these seem to be draining slower than normal.

Salt Away - Salt water survival tips

I wash the boat with a good quality wash and wax soap to further the cleaning process - get missed spots, wash away puddled water and actual dirt and prevent water spots (required drying too). If I did not wash after spraying with Salt Off, I would expect to see water spots and left over dirt...

Salt Away - Salt water survival tips

Good video. FWIW, I boat only in salt water, and I spray down my boat (inside and out) using a hose end garden mixer filled with Salt Off (it uses about 5 ozs). I do that before I flush the engine with Salt Off. Afterwards, I wash the boat inside and out, but the salt off has had time to...

Boat Owners in South Carolina pay 10.5% in taxes EACH YEAR?

You must have mis-read some things about Hawaii. It has always had a high income tax; we lived there 1991-1995. Now, it is the highest in the nation. If you have some types of a government pension that might not be taxed, but any private pension or any type of 401K (private or government)...

Boat Owners in South Carolina pay 10.5% in taxes EACH YEAR?

I do not know the specifics of SC tax calculation. However, I would guess that it is fairly close to GA (neighboring states often try to not create an incentive to register in the bordering state); for example, I cannot imagine that SC would have any marinas on Lake Hartwell (in both states) if...

    Boat loans – how long?

If you are asking questions and want to be safer, treat it like a car. Although longer periods are available, 5 years is the typical car loan term. At least using a 5 year term should give you comfort that you can handle the payment in your budget, and you will probably be upside down for a...

2017 Yamaha 190FSH Deluxe Throttle Stuck in Neutral

Before you use grease/oil, you might want to spray some mild acid on the areas that could have rusted in place. You could use Starbrite Rust Stain Remover or similar product. The acid will eat the rust in a couple of minutes; it will also eat any salt accumulations. Afterwards, you will need...

    Possible new owner with questions

There are many, like myself, that boat only or mostly in salt water; my boat is almost 4 years old with no repairs and looks almost new. I do flush each time with Salt Off. As to how they handle chop, I have no complaints, and I have been out many times in less than favorable conditions...

    Salt Away Applicator?

I have had good luck with the Salt Off mixer; I have been using the same one for nearly 4 years.

    House Battery Issue

Turning the bilge switch on only just provides power to the pump. It will then auto sense (run briefly to detect water) every few minutes, and it will not run continuously until it is pumping water. Your bilge switch should always be on, if your boat is in the water, and it should be off (or...
