Guys, what is the max size of Yamaha boat people are towing and launching/retrieving with the BMW X5 ?

Problem isn't always just towing capacity but the wheel base and weight of the tow vehicle. I towed my AR240 with a grand cherokee with a 5.7L hemi as it was rated for 7500lbs but that boat would push the truck around and it would get squirrelly on windy days and bumpy roads and especially...

2013 242 Limited S, YDS database file not found

Well a dbf file is a database file. Sounds like it is missing a file on the computer you are running it on or the file is on the wrong location.

    Trolling Motor on an AR240??

Wow, That looks great. Great write up also. That front mount doesn't wear through the mooring cover?

    Trolling Motor on an AR240??

Anyone ever mount a trolling motor on an AR240?? We fish a lot but I cannot see changing over to a FSH because we want a tolling motor. I was thinking of mounting on the swim deck as thats closer to the water line and really the only flat spot to mount one. I also use a cover and want to be...

    240 Series Owners

Finding a boat this year isn't easy. Everyone and their uncle is buying boats because you can't go on vacation. Boats, camper and RV's are sold out in a lot of places.

My Unusual (Alternate) Dual Battery Setup

House battery shouldn't have anything to do with the engines not starting unless somethings wired wrong. Thats the point of the house battery, it runs all the electronics so your starting battery never gets drained. Maybe wires got switched if batteries were removed at some point? How do you...

My Unusual (Alternate) Dual Battery Setup

@FLJetBoater if by the time you got back to the dock both batteries were at 100% I would say either a bad/loose connection, corrosion or bad batteries. These boats do not charge batteries well so unless it was a 6-7 hour drive back there is no way the engines would fully recharge a dead...

Reverse gate stuck in full throttle position

disconnect the cable from the bucket if you can and see if it moves. If you're in the water and can't do that, check for rocks or debris that may be jammed in there not allowing it to move.

    2021 FSH 255 Thread

$80K seems kinda steep. Been using our AR240 for ocean fishing for a while now and I can say the jets don't handle the rough water well. My old 20' I/O did better in chop as the outdrive does a much better job keeping the boat planted. I added tabs this year which helps a lot and I think for...

No thrust from the starboard engine

Happens if the intake grate gets a gap between the hull and the grate basically the grate pulls away from the hull and you get cavitation at speed. It sucks in air bubbles instead of water and you don't get thrust. look at the intake grate for gaps

    2013 Yamaha ar240 restart problem

Seems to be common. Usually the port engine. Happened to me yesterday, had to crank the port side for a while to start it. Only happened once though. People have said to leave blowers on for a while after shutting down to evacuate all the heat and that seems to help me.

    Water on top of Plugs

Well that's where the water is coming from, people getting in and out and sometimes the deck can get washed over when stopping quick. We will also get a lot of water coming out the drain plug when we pull it as the overflow from that area goes in to the bilge.

Help- Will steering with engines damage them?

The one engine firing is a very common issue that no one seems to be able to figure out some have said heat soak after a long run and to keep the blowers on for a while when shutting down to help cool them I've had it happen first trip of the day also

    Yoder or Traeger?

Just got my Rec Tec 700 Bull a couple weeks ago and love it. All stainless steel, 6 year warranty, wifi, dual probes, 40lb hopper and it gets to temp quick and holds it there. It will go over 500 degrees which most smokers won't do, some will. I've heard of other brands that vary up to 20...
