Have you lost yours yet? Swim platform stereo remote cover.

Bought my boat in Feb of 2015 and still haven't lost mine. I am surprised by that, I figured I would lose it pretty quickly. Locally I trailer my boat without a cover. Long trips get a cover.

    Elevation and top speed?

Definitely elevation. I normally operate about 350 feet above sea level and can get 50-53 depending on wind and current. When I take it up to 4700 feet, I lose a lot of power and get up to maybe 40-42.

    How old is everyone?

@shane hric Thanks! She will be one year old in a couple weeks!

    Tow vehicle ?

Interesting you say that. Ram has adhered to the standard with its heavy duty trucks (2500 and 3500) since the 2014 model year, something Ford and Chevy still don't do until they release their next line of HD trucks. All 3 follow it now for 1500 trucks. For Ford the only truck outside the F150...

Pro Trailer Backup Assist for 2016 Ford F-150

It's a cool innovation, but in my opinion it is another thing that will make for crappier drivers in the long run. There is no replacement for actually learning how to back a trailer up. If you can't back a trailer up, don't buy something that needs to be towed.

    Tow vehicle ?

Adding a trans cooler is always a good idea.

What time do you get up to go boating?

For boat race weekend I'm on the water typically by 6am. Primarily to avoid crowded ramps. But normal planned boating day usually on the water around 10 or 11 and stay until about 7 or 8. Unplanned boating days we just grab the boat and go. We only have a 5 minute drive to the river.

    Show us your tow rigs!

My truck has gone through a few changes so I figure it is a good time to post updated photos. The day after I brought it home. Now: A bit cold around the region right now.

    New Tow Vehicle

Congrats on the upgrade! Don't be afraid to show dirty pictures. Dirty trucks = trucks that get used.

    Tow vehicle ?

With only a 5k tow rating that technically only leaves you 600 lbs (3 - 4 adults and no gear) to be able to put in the 4 runner. Will it do it? Yes. Would I do it? Not for very far. It's low tow rating isn't because of power issues. The 4.0 pulls ok, but it's wheel base and suspension that...

Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel Summit Series ----- Seized Engine

I've been reading a lot about the Eco diesels as I have been considering one in a Ram. The oil cooler as mentioned above is a problem but not one that causes fast engine failures without showing signs during routine maintenance. An issue that is becoming more common is one of the cam gears...

Riding in the back of the boat lounge area..

@ben hammond While I agree that most deaths from CM are inside boats something to consider is that CM poisoning could start to have effects on someone then can contribute to a lack of swimming and breath holding ability should they end up in the water. All this said, will someone get CM...

    Who has USAA insurance, Esurance?

I don't dismiss them at all. I actually came from Geico when I was on active duty which had no stores to visit. They beat USAA and everyone else for my needs. Once I bought a house and added homeowners coverage, they were not able to beat who I now have. I am not trying to sway anyone away from...

Riding in the back of the boat lounge area..

On the backs of vehicles, and vessels there is a large air eddie that will circulate the contaminated air. Even though it feels like fresh air is coming by, there is still that spot that is only swirling, not blowing by. Adding a body back there adds to the height that the contaminated air...

Riding in the back of the boat lounge area..

I'm glad you mentioned this, because that was my first thought as well. Carbon monoxide is the main reason I do not like people riding back there.

    Who has USAA insurance, Esurance?

Get quotes from everyone. They should all be free. If you are basing it off price that is the best way to do it. If you value other stuff like being able to visit offices (State Farm, Farmers, Progressive in certain areas, etc.), or phone based customer service (USAA, Geico, Esurance, etc.)...

    'merica

At first glance I seriously thought that your tower speakers were engines on a jet doing a low pass over your boat.

first experience sucking something in the jet..

In three years of jet boat ownership (2 years with SeaDoo and this year with Yamaha) I have never once had anything get lodged in either boat's jets. I am sure I sucked plenty into the SeaDoo pump but it has very very sharp impellers which help with self clearing of debris. The impellers on...

    Lesson learned about trailer insurance

I think one of the biggest take aways from this is to always get things in writing. Someone simply telling you your trailer is covered by your truck policy won't work when encountering what you are going through. If you have coverage for it in writing then you would have something to fight...

    Engine Hours-Poll

I'm at almost 30 hours already and our boating season will likely last until the end of October this year. Probably going to see 75 hours by the end of the season.
