Hopefully it has a built in switch similar to what is on my Ultima Johnson so that there is little or no drain when it is not pumping. Despite that I still put a switch in mine.
If you enjoy cigars my friend Gaylord has a selection for $10 each. Gaylord is the Assistant Property Manager at Bimini Sands. He is a great guy and can help with almost anything, especially if you tip him with moonshine or whiskey.
Might want to add $10 cigars are great value. But 99% of these are mislabeled (fake) Cubans. Not going to get a real Cohibas anywhere in the world for 10 bucks. So enjoy these for what they are. I have and most are pretty Decent.
It has a built in automatic float switch. I wired a 3 amp fuse between the battery and it so when its out of the water I can just pull the fuse. My boat will likely spend a lot of time on a lift outside over the next few years so this was going to be needed anyways.
It does say 6amp fuse but also says 3amp on it as well. The book says the max draw is 3 amps so if it pulls more then that something is wrong any way so I didn’t see any need to fuse it any higher. If I find it blowing the 3amp fuse it’s pretty easy to just change to a larger fuse which I have on the boat but once again it would likely mean there is a larger issue somewhere that needs addressed.

Most motors have a higher startup load than when running and certainly increase the load if debris get into the pump. I would not be surprised if 3 amps is just slightly above the running load. If you ever need that second bilge pump you would not want it to blow the fuse.

So if you need the pump to pump and for some reason it’s having to work harder than it really should, do you want it to keep on running working hard, or blow the fuse and sink your boat?
Safety devices like bilge pumps should be fused high. What’s the worst that could happen? It catches fire, stops pumping, and the boat gets a little smoke damage before it sinks?

$10 is a great price. I believe they start around $15 on North Bimini.
Gaylord was previously with the Royal Bahama's Police Force and all of my experiences with him have demonstrated honesty. I bet he will tell you where they came from over a drink.
But I agree that many are fake. A Cuban immigrant friend with a condo in Bimini has told me that he prefers other sources to Cuban but I figure you have have to try everything once.

Ok guys
There has been a slight change in plans and I need 150 lbs(approx) of living and breathing meat with a cooler and back back for paid transport from FL to Bimini and back. Preferably for the hopeful Sunday departure....
Can anyone help?

I agree but I have first hand seen a wire catch fire on a friends boat while on it and it's scary enough to never want to see it happen again lol. To be honest its probably a 5 amp fuse I put in there I'm just guessing but to make @Bruce and @Berrie feel better for my safety I will double check but if the wire catches fire I'm sending some one the bill lol jk.
