2019 Release coming soon!

Every time I see a picture of the "wave" a survivor boat makes.. It makes the think about those of us who dont surf but have to deal with random waves all over the lake. Like rouge waves on dealest catch in the bearing sea!

When talking about the FSH they mention the new nozzles taking away from the top end speed to give a little more low end torque? Was that a misspeak?

Man btw , mabye I’m just to old school , but anyone else not a fan of all the new electronics ? I like the old gauges , and switches and what not , I feel like the touch screens and everything going thru that is asking for trouble down the road !!! Then again I like my old truck with manual windows !! Lol , I guess I’m just getting old , lol

In my experience the wakes produced by wake surfing boats going 10mph are by far less annoying, and never dangerous, as compared to larger cabin cruisers etc. traveling at much higher rates of speed.

Yea we will have to wait to see what real world Experiences are ,

I run a wake wedge, and Gantlin’s rear transom bag , that’s it on my boat , I know other people run more , but me and my family are happy with it , me and my wife and son really enjoy this setup , and as far as surfing , just practice , we got 360 spins done , and working on getting air , I just have a hard time getting my rear foot up and getting my knees up

Fantastic to hear. Again, our goal with such young kids and our lifestyle not being super water sports enthusiasts per se, I think this really helps our decision making. I don't want to spend the extra $20K for internal ballast on the 242X as we are on a budget, and for our casual use of the boat I'm not sure the extra luxury features on the E-series/242X matter for us also. So, I think the AR240 hits the sweet spot. Probably the 2019 as our local dealer is saying he will do everything possible to get the price closer to the 2018 even with current End of Summer $1,000 discount, within like $2k OTD price. So, that would appear that he is willing to eat $2K on the 2019 to keep us happy and move a boat so close to the timing of 2018 pricing being fresh in folks minds.

Oh go back to your rotary phone and calm down! LOL, I kid!! I, for one LOVE the new electronics, very rarely do they fail, I remember when all that was coming out in the new vehicles and the old me would say "Oh that's a lot to go wrong" it rarely if ever failed. The old analog equipment failed before the new electronic gadgets.

But... I do agree to going back to a simpler time though, all the electronics have SOOOO much data and info instantly it's kinda scary!

Ha yeah I know. I just want to press a button and go. I’m lazy lol.
Yep, I'm with you! However, not going to happen with a Yamaha, not with current generation/models.
I have tried about as hard as anyone here...

Not to brag, but I think I have about as robust of a ballast system, automated/built-in, as anyone.
(I do not know what else is conceivable in any 24ft yammie - three built in 800lbs bags each w/dedicated high speed reversible pumps, plus a separate aux pump for the swim deck, etc. - all controllable from the helm)

Yet - with all that - there is no way I could go ropeless (comfortably) without the Gatlin wedge and the custom swim deck bag...

I don't mind electronic dash components, but Yamaha is missing the boat on aesthetically pleasing. They could put in a little more effort there.

Lol my

mom and dad still have a rotary phone ! Lol I kid also :)

The surfer looks better with the WakeBooster though, so it's still a toss up.

Hey! I take offense to that!

No I don't, you're right.:D I'm also 90 pounds heavier than the surfer in the second pic, and was able to drop the rope quickly after not being on a surf board in two years.

It would be nice to see the wave with a Wakebooster with a transom bag. I bet it would be pretty good.

Exactly what I would like to see as well.

So are there any demo vids of the new nozzles reversing through an obstacle course or anything? Since this is an across the board change I would think it would be highlighted more if it's something that really improves where these boats are very much lacking.

I'd be fucked. I have 3" in my garage. Wonder if i can order the new hinges for the seats and add them myself. If these new nozzles work as they say would it make TV's and laterals thrusters obsolete?
I don't think so. They would have had to redesign the whole cushion set up. Our current cushions are wedged in.

I also don't think the thrusters are obsolete. The new design still points down, not to the side. I doubt they'll be able to do a backwards figure eight like the thrusters video shows. Looks like a definite improvement though.

I see kayakers on sports lakes around here and not just near the shore. I always wonder how fun that really is with all the wave action and power boats running around.

Says the guy with a two-year-old boat. ;-)
When they do fail they are very costly. A replacement head unit on a car can easily cost $2000 or more.
It will be interesting to see how these things hold up after 10, 20 years.

I think kayaks and boats can coexist fairly well. :D

I can't see any of these embedded videos from Julian or swat. I try to play them but it just goes black when I mash the play button.
