25 Footers Are Leaving The Factory!

I just joined as well and am in NE Ohio. Went to the dealer (Buckeye) on Tuesday and saw a brand new blue 252SE that just arrived - maybe it was yours! It looked great and convinced us to pull the trigger. We ordered a black 2021 252SD yesterday to get the grey interior and the Drive system. We aren't expecting delivery until next year, but no need for it now since our season is over.

Yup, that was ours. We went up Wednesday evening and finished the paperwork. We ordered a snap on cover for it that won't be there until Nov/Dec so Buckeye is going to store it for the winter. Can't wait for spring!!

We debated on the SD upgrade but couldn't justify the $4K cost. I'm curious to hear what you think of it once you give it a try.

Picked it up yesterday. Loving it so far! They did get me the 2.99 after I complained, but I'm not sure why it got to that point.

Because they were making the difference between the 2 rates in profit

Thats what I figured. They didn't give me reason for change, but I assumed it was something to that effect.

I loved the ride, I've got about 4 hours on it now. I don't have a ton to compare it to, but one thing I noticed was how quickly it planes. Really impressive and makes driving much safer, easier. I didn't have any issues around the dock. Using the 2 throttles to just steer essentially make it easy. It was a clam day though with no real waves or wind, but I'm getting the hang of it pretty quickly I feel.

thanks that is great information. I don’t see the need for the drive system so that would be a waste for myself. I’m fairly comfortable with docking and launching at this point. But I can see the value for people who may have whiskey throttle at times lol. I appreciate you reply.
Can anyone tell me about the sound system? Icon 8 tower speakers. What model soundbar and what model coaxial and what subwoofer revos?

@tkeru408 On The 252SE is there room to install the Wake Booster, or Wake Wedge? I haven't been able to find info on that, and the reason I ask is because it has a bracket for the swim-up seat that appears to be in close vicinity to where the Booster/Wedge would be installed.

Im looking to buy a 252SE soon, but I don't want a boat I cant potentially use for wakesurfing in the future.

Should work fine with the 24 wake booster. Dealer can confirm.

Sorry, but I don't know if it will or not. I don't know how long the wakebooster is but if there's a specific measurement you want on the boat I'm happy to put a tape measure on it for you. Even if the seating bracket didn't physically inhibit installation of the wakebooster it seems like it would affect the water rushing through that area. Potentially true for the wake wedge also.

Would you be able to snap a few pics of the underneath swim platform area? I think that would provide clarification on fitment. I really appreciate the feedback!

Sure, here are some pics. First two pics show that the hook and bracket are directly in line with each other. Third pic shows that from the hook to the nearest edge of the bracket assembly is about 11 inches. Fourth pic shows that from the center of the bracket to the nearest edge of the ladder is about 18 inches.

Thank you for the pics! Very helpful!

Looks like it would be close on the wakebooster. I cant find the dimensions for it, but maybe someone on the forum may have a 24' wakebooster they could take measurements. Otherwise I will have to ask the dealer if they have one to try on there.

Im pretty sure the Wake Wedge will not work because the installation goes from Ladder bracket to tie down loop. The chair bracket is directly in the path.

If the current Wakebooster doesn't work I feel like Yamaha must be planning to release a version that does. It would be foolish of them to eliminate that option for the entire lineup of 252 series boats that have the seat brackets. But, you never know!

So was at our local dealer yesterday and they had 2 252 SE’s one in each color. Blue with tan interior and black with the dark grey.
The blue one was sold the black available.
Both are good looking. I was bitching up a storm when I first seen the brown/ tan but now it is rich looking, much better in person.
Personally would take the black though. Boats are super nice after seeing them , they definitely look bigger in person.. The new engine hatch design and walk though are awesome, so much better. Fit and finish on these two was very good, spent 45 minutes going over everything, openings, alignments etc. The batteries are now in the engine compartment on the port side, so that was an improvement. The opening to the head area is larger and the top is cut back, easier to get into . The bimini is nice, very secure, you can tilt the front downward by another 3.00 “ with the built in adjustment. The tower on these are bigger and different latching system then on the AR 250. Much beefier. The sliding seat work much better than expected.
The boat seem much larger in width, on the interior, not sure why, , the front bow seating area is definitely longer.
The hull design is significantly different. Back comes up on an angle, then flattens out to the front. Looks very sleek, was a 2018 AR 240 sitting next to these. It looked really dated. Could not believe the difference. The side of the hull has a triangular design into it making it look really good, The side window has cutout design that really looks cool , make it look sleek also. The fuel tank opening is now way toward the front on the same side, but it about a foot higher in that location, definitely way over my head.

Went to another dealer in Lexington, who has a blue AR 250. It also was not sold and available. Compared to the SE it was very plain looking , but nice, of course it $20 k less so it makes sence
Dang, was all set to hate these , didn’t happen, will probably have to sell mine and get one.

Pic #1 shows the yamaha website when I click on the 252SE and scroll to the bottom of the screen they advertise accessories to purchase with your boat. The information states the WakeBooster fits "All" 2015 & Newer 24'-25' Yamaha Runabouts.

The second pic is the Brochure from the Yamaha Facebook page and it also shows the WakeBooster being for 25' boats.

I know Yamaha never puts inaccurate info out on the interwebs , but that gives me a little more hope.

Anyone with a 25 footer - what's the trailer hitch height?

I wish I say this before today..I would have checked. Anderson marine in tennessee has a 252SE in stock, man did I look at it hard. It's a beautiful boat. They had a 212SE gray with the brown interior. It's looks better in person than the pics but I definitely prefer the gray interior. Outside gray was great though. Also had a black AR210 that was good looking to, I liked the smoke in the side graphics.

Check with you local credit unions for financing. I got 84 months at 2.69% or 120 months at 4.39% mid 700s. 2.99 for 60 months needing an 850 fico is bull!

Anyone with a 25 footer - what's the trailer hitch height?

Are you trying to figure out what height rise/drop hitch ball mount you need?

On my 4wd F150, I use an adjustable hitch ball mount (Curt 45900) flipped up and set to ~1" rise which puts the top of the hitch ball at 20.75". That puts it up high enough so that when the trailer is loaded down onto it and it settles, the trailer tongue is level. I don't know how high the hitch ball is at that point, but if you need that number I can measure it the next time I hook up the trailer (Thursday afternoon, if no pesky work meetings pop up).

Yes exactly. I just got a 2018 Q7 with adaptive chassis and the OEM hitch. I'll be waiting for weeks for my boat so take your time to measure the height to the trailer coupler.
