The one thing my dealer, who was out of state, said was to replace or add a bilge pump in the 195s. I'm adding a 2nd battery wired in parallel, red to red, black to back. I want the bilge pump with float to be hot at all times. Do I add a 2nd pump and wire it to the 2nd battery or replace the stock bilge with a bilge with a float.

If I add a 2nd bilge pump I will have to (I think) cut a hole in the boat for the water to exit but this seems like the easiest way to go.

If I replace the factory bilge with a float type then I have to figure out how to make it hot at all times while keeping the main switch off. I need to figure this out pretty quickly. Any help or advice is appreciated. Any pics of the stock bilge would be helpful too since I think it's behind the engine. I was thinking of going with a rule and also wire in a float switch.

Was your dealer saying to replace the factory one or to add a second one? Did they give you any reason behind this suggestion?

I would not replace but add an additional one. Does you no good really if you’re looking for redundancy to replace.

The dealer didn't really say about adding or replacing. I would rather add but how would I do that. I can wire it to the 2nd battery but where do I place it and where do I put the exit hose. I guess I would have to drill a hole in my new boat.

I located the stock bilge. Not a lot of room in the engine compartment. Seems pretty simple to put in a 2nd bilge and wire it to the battery. Only issue is finding one that fits.

There are numerous threads in adding a second bilge pump. Possibly even in the FAQ. Personally I would place it in the actual bilge under the cleanout tray as it’s lowest point of the boat where water would fill first. You don’t have to add another hole unless you wanted to. You could T into the existing bilge outlet. If you get a bilge pump with a float just wire it directly to the battery. It would only draw power or run if the float rises in the event of water. That is how mine is on my boat which is nice because I don’t have to worry about leaving the boat powered up at the battery switch in order for the bilge to potentially save my boat from sinking while wet slipping or mooring.

Edit I found a link in the FAQ but I can’t view it because the FAQ doesn’t work with iPad (destroys the formatting) but hopefully you can see this https://jetboaters.net/faq/#faq-100

I've read the faq and did an extensive search and can't find any good information on adding a 2nd bilge to my 2021 190/195 boat. I tried yesterday to add a 2nd bilge next to the factory one and while there is room the floor of the engine compartment isn't flat so I can only install 2nd bilge on an angle which I don't want to do. Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

Can you post some pictures? That might be helpful for us that don’t have your boat type.

I will second what @haknslash said about adding a second bilge pump. If you have an accessory switch still available you can wire it off of that switch, and duplicate the stock set up. This way the pump will work automatically even if the battery switches are off, and the switch will illuminate when it operates in auto, or if you turn it on manually.

Heres my two cents worth, your boat probably came with a 500 GPH bilge pump like mine, install a second bilge pump that is 1500 gph (my intention as well) like the one pictured in your first post. Personally I prefer the type that has the threaded connection so it’s easier to attach the hose from the thru hull hitting to the pump. You will need to install an additional through hull fitting for this new pump, not a big deal. The 1500 gph series uses either 1” or 1 & 1/8 “ hoses and fittings, where the stock 500 gph uses 3/4” hoses and fittings.

This way you have two independent bilge pump systems for increased integrity, redundancy and increased capacity.

I want to add the 2nd bilge and I read of boat owner's doing this but not sure where they are installing them. The stock bilge is mounted at the lowest point but the flooring to the left and right of the stock booger is not flat so there really isn't a mounting place next to the stock bilge.

I believe what is being suggested is in the bilge, not the engine bay. You would access this through the tray that is by your clean out port on the swim platform.

If you could capture a few pictures of this area along with the engine bay we might be able to help with suggestions.

Do you wet slip or moor your boat? If so do you have access to power at the slip. Either way it would make no sense to put it by the factory bildge instead of below the clean out tray as said above. If your not slipping the boat I honestly wouldn't worry about it, but that's just my opinion

Ok. This is helpful. I could mount it by the transducer. That is to the right of the clean out plug under the little plastic hatch. I'll try to post pics later

This is a 2017 model, but should be similar for your '19 model. Remove the access panel under the rear platform storage area. This gives you access into the TRUE bilge of the boat. The factory bilge is in the engine bay, and is NOT the lowest point on the boat. Install below where this red arrow points. Wiring to the battery in the port rear storage is easy by going over/around the rear bulkhead in that compartment. Plumbing should run to the starboard side near where the factory bilge exits. I would drill a new hole, and add a new fitting and line. Putting two pumps on a single line will likely reduce capacity of both pumps should they need to run at the same time.

You can install the bilge on a slight angle. it doesn't care. Orient the float switch perpendicular to the centerline of the boat so that the angle is compensated for. Then wire directly to either battery.

If also adding a second battery I would add a two battery switch. It's not hard or expensive.

I do have two batteries with a solar charger but don't want to put in a second switch since the boat is brand new and don't want any headaches if I need warranty work. I did confirm that the stock bilge pump will activate with the battery switch in the off position. I wired a 2nd bilge with a float to the 2nd battery. The bilge will not operate until the float switch is activated by water. I siliconed in a piece of treated wood and then siliconed the cage of the bilge to the wood. It sits prettly level. Not at the lowest point but there are also drain plugs if I needed to get every drop out. I'm uploading a few pics.

This was a very helpful post. Thanks

Yes. I am wet slipping the boat so just wanted a little extra protection. Thanks
