So I put my deposit down on an AR250 in early February, but the boat was ordered by my dealership as part of their “initial order.” Regional Manager told them at that time it would arrive “before season.” Seeing cancellations on here makes me nervous my ship wont come in. Anyway to tell if it’s still going to be a Go or is Yamaha just “The Great Oz.”

I wouldn’t worry too much. Keep in touch with your dealership & possible regional manager for possible delivery dates without hounding them too much. Typically you hear the worst case scenarios when surfing the web/forums. Be patient and understanding and you’ll likely end up with a great relationship with the dealership.

I keep hearing factory is shut down. When I got my boat last week, they said they don’t expect anymore for months.

Oh I hope not. There are some Chaparral stern drives around, bur I had myself really sold on Yamaha ?

And now the universe is messing with me. Driving all the way home through construction and all the signs are flashing “EXPECT DELAYS!”

You're close enough, maybe take a ride down to Vonore and ask them if you can take a look at yours before it's shipped off to the dealer for prep. If my buddy still lived there, I'd meet up with you for some golf and 'shine.

LOL - reminds me of the first time I had shine here. I said “that’s amazing, where’d you get this?“ Response was “OK, first rule of shine, you don’t ask where somebody got it.”

Second rule of shine: "I'm from Wisconsin, we know how to drink." Famous last words. I damn near spun off the face of Earth.

So get this - the buddy who moved from Milwaukee, WI to Vonore happened to move RIGHT NEXT DOOR to a guy that lived/worked in Milwaukee, WI. Retired from Allis Chalmers and moved down there afterwards. Started my friend down the path of making batches of DIY Kahlua, and later on, 'shine. I remember the first time we drove down. We get there around breakfast time, and he offers us some "fruit cocktail" for breakfast. When the pieces of watermelon and strawberries have 10% of their original color, DON'T EAT IT! LOL My BIL had some, and he had heartburn for the rest of the day.

That’s hilarious! I grew up in Iowa. My next door neighbors here in Tennessee are from Iowa and Minnesota. All of us can vouch for the Wisconsin consumption. Thought I could hang with anyone, but after traveling to Lambeau for a couple of games on business - all I can say is......you win Wisconsin! You win! I’m out!

LOL I remember back in the mid 00's I used to work with East Coast D.C. peeps and they'd want to go for cocktails after work. I'll never forget the first time they were like "should we order another (insert girly drink here)?" and I'm like "why not, on my fourth beer already..."

From La Crosse, I assumed everyone drank like we did there. Until moved to Texas. Wisconsin drinking, especially Oktoberfest in La Crosse is a whole different level.

Only time I have ever been intoxicated for more than 24 hours straight. In college and participated in Oktoberfest. Fairly certain if I tried that now, I would not survive.

Man you guys haven't had shine until you've had "engineer grade" shine.

Good friend works as a chemist for a well known local tobacco company. His job is a "Flavorist" for said company. So he has access to all kinds of neat laboratories, equipment, and spare time to "brew" whatever he thinks he might need to flavor the tobacco. Of course this leads him to setting up a "government job" in the lab and making some shine. He then proceeds to make a few jars, and flavors it like a dreamsicle. Not sure if everyone knows what that is, but it's an orange and vanilla creme flavored sweet ice cream treat. It's effing amazing.

We show up to a car meet one day a few decades back, and he has a jar of his creamsicle shine with him. I take a shot of it, just a single shot. It burned, then it was sweet, then it burnt again. OMG it was amazing. Then it started. I went through the entire "drunk cycle" in about 45min. I had hot flashes, I had got dehydrated, I was nauseous, I was sick, then the world was spinning, then I settled down and was back to just "hung over". Seriously, all of that in about 45-50 min. It was surreal.

The even better part. Saw him a few years later at a friend of a friends wedding. He was there with two mason jars of his shine. One pink, One purple. Said he had "toned it down" a bit since I had seen him last, but I still passed. He was asking everyone which tasted better. I sat there for 30 min or so watching people sample and give an opinion. "The pink is WAY better, clearly."..."No way, the purple is obviously smoother"........Come to find out, he had made both of them EXACTLY the same, then just added food coloring as an experiment to see how color affected the opinion of taste.
