Found out my kill switch is only working for one engine. Seems pretty common, but also had no luck with finding a replacement that isnt like $100 that fits in the OEM spot.

I was thinking about disassembling it and seeing if a good cleaning and maybe lu dictating job would fix it. Anyone tried this before with success? Or is it pretty much sealed?

That is a spring loaded double throw normally open switch. In other words keeping the circuit open keeps the engines running and closing the contacts together stops them. Corrosion is the likely culprit. Not familar if it is sealed or not but should be a fairly simple mechanism. Worst case you unplug the contacts and the boat still works until you get a new one if it can’t be repaired. If you lube it make sure the lube is non-conductive.

I got mine cleaned up.No idea how I got lucky, but I use contact cleaner all around it,(did not disassemble, not sure how) and actuated it by hand a few hundred times trying to figure out how it worked. By the time I checked again to reproduce the problem with the tester the issue had been corrected, So I just put it back on. so far so good, it still works. That was maybe a year ago, but could be 2.

I looked through some options for replacement, because I think $100+ seemed like theft... There are some generic switches, you can install 2 and leave it be. There is a generic switch that uses a toggle switch, and there are dual pole switches, so for 30 or 35 you could assemble one... It if was me and it did not correct after some cleaning effort, I would just install a second generic one, and hook up to both switches... but you are not there yet. Try some cleaning, it just might work.
