As we all start to get ready for boating season I figured I would throw out info for this year Cooper River Run. This is an awesome 130 mile round trip run starting in Charleston SC running up the Cooper River and entering Lake Moultrie through the Pinopolis Lock which is a 75 foot single lift lock and is a sight to see. The Cooper River Runs about 58 miles through the remote and beautiful South Carolina low country and is an awesome run mostly in protected waters with great scenery and wildlife along the way. This year we will be doing a one day round trip Starting from Remley's Point boat landing in Mt Pleasant SC just the other side of the harbor from downtown Charleston. We will depart from Remley's at 10am so all boats will need to be in the water prior to that. We should arrive to the lock around aprox 12:30 and will plan to have a packed lunch on lake Moultrie then refuel as necessary and return to Charleston likely around 5pm. A call will be made to the lock operator at 8am the day of to verify operation if for weather reasons the lock is not operating the run will still happen but we will stop short of the lock have lunch and return. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to @Andy S or I. This event is open to anyone feel free to tag anyone I missed. There will be no official hotel at this time but since we are doing a one day trip your options are open. I will post where I'm stayign and sure @Andy S will as well once we have decided.

Saturday May 20th
Depart Remley's Point 10:00 am
Pinopolis Lock 12:30
Lunch on Lake Lake Marion 1:00pm
Return trip 2:00 pm

That's the easy part walk in to your dealer of choice and point you finger at the one you like drop that fat stack of cash you got from selling your boat and walk out the door or I will meet you at the boat show in Charleston next week and get you set up my man lol. I'm sure someone will give you a ride if needed though @ACrews

Would you be referring to Charleston Powersports or you got another source? I hate that Charleston & Jacksonville doing their boat shows the same weekend. I'm gonna be at one of them.

@ACrews i was just referring to the show in general there will likely be more then just them there selling skis. I will be at the Charleston show next Saturday I believe if you there shoot me a text. The Jacksonville show maybe a better one though.

@robert843 I made it there & Jax last yr. I'm partial to the Charleston show but mainly because they have my Cutwater Boats.

Of course I'm in. @ACrews if you don't get a water bike I might have room for you on my boat, I'll know for sure in a week or so.
An offer like that, I may accidentally on purpose not buy one for a chance to board such a fine piece of motorized floatation!

Effective immediately, all PWC sales have been suspended until next yr! Haha

@ACrews are you window shopping or bringing the checkbook?

@robert843 I think it's time for you to personally stretch your adventure a little. We've got to build those sea legs for the summer ocean rides and yes standing in a boat counts as well. You know 12 hours on the boat and 3 tanks of gas sounds fun. Now Vicky may think otherwise. I highly doubt it would take much to convince @veedubtek to join.
  • Friday party at your local spot(s)
  • 7am to 7:30ish Saturday depart from Myrtle
  • 10am depart from Charleston with full group participants
  • 2ish depart Lake Moultrie after light lunch and time hanging with fellow boaters to head back to Charleston
  • 5:30ish depart Charleston after early dinner at Isles of Palms Marina
  • 7:30ish arrive back in Myrtle Beach

I'm jus gonna be window shopping at this show. I understand dealers have to make money to stay in business, but I'm trying to find someone willing to deal rather than jus show me the MSRP. I'm well aware of that number.

Not going to make it this year. With the move to Florida. Really enjoyed this run last year

You know I'm 110% down. For Jeremiah's plan, that is. Well, for both, but I fully endorse @Ramblin Wreck

So @Andy S even hinted in our conversation before posting this that he may have thought I was going to launch from Myrtle lol. It's not Vicky it a 10 month old son who may not be up for this. Now if you are going to come to Myrtle Friday night and Brittany and Josie want to ride down to Charleston with them in a car Saturday morning I maybe able to pull that off but not sure. I have done that trip before and its not that bad just a long pushed day. I will have to see who commits to going if the right person does with a boat may even pass them off on a boat and join you on a ski doing this.
