Charleston, SC Cooper River run up thru Pinopolis Lock - Sat, July 18, 2020

Well if I can’t enjoy the blue waters of the Bahamas, the rivers of South Carolina low country will do. See on the water Andy.

Damn, I just saw this thread.... Missed it somehow. This seems like a great time, can’t wait to hear about it. If you do another this year, I’m super interested. My wife loves Charleston so it would be easy to sell her on it

Would have loved to done this. How was the trip?!

Another successful trip and the conditions couldn't have been more perfect. It was great having 6 trip virgins on this run, watching them experience the trip was priceless.

One new thing to me on this trip was that we had 2 videographers on my boat, they were taking videos to create advertisement videos for Berkley County tourism. Once they put together some videos and I get copies I will post them here.

Since I was driving I didn't get many pictures but one of the trip virgins on my boat got a ton of pictures but I haven't received any of them yet.

First time seeing a train going over the bridge and yes even with having a tower I can fit under that bridge, so could my friends 23' Key West center console, clearance is about 11' at high tide which we were about 1 hour off of high tide.

So.... I just booked a hotel in Charleston Aug 4-9. Thinking of getting a wet slip at the Megadock and using that as a base. Anyone interested in doing this run again? Or for the first time in case you missed it.

I have done this trip a few time I would possibly be up for a run to the locks in August or September if we get a good weekend.

If we can get some good weather and work/kids school schedules work out, I’d look at driving down for a long weekend. Is Labor Day weekend crazy in Charleston like beaches and lakes usually are?

For what we are looking to do probably not that crazy the lock run will probably not be busy

Bump.... have another thread goin but figured I'd post here as well. I'll be there this weekend and thinking about this run for Saturday. Weather says PM thunderstorms right now so will have to see what it looks like later this week.
