Charleston Cooper River Run up to Pinopolis Lock May 20th 2017

Don't let my limited May schedule dictate what weekend works best for the group. I could do memorial day weekend but being the so called first weekend of summer, the river will probably be very crowded.

I'm good with the the 12th date I like it when its earlier in May. I know that will discourage some from joining us but hopefully someone will want to put together a later date for those who can't make it. I honestly wasn't sure if I was even going to do it this year I had been contemplating replacing this next year with the Hilton Head run for me and I may still.

Hilton Head sounds like a great option. I would be open to either trip.

Once we get into January I will hit you up on this and we will figure it out. I'm sure if we opt for Hilton Head @bronze_10 can take the lead this year on the locks run.

myrtle > charleston > locks > charleston > hilton head > savannah > and back. easy. Just plan something else for Sunday.

well... i have only been up the river the one time and zero passes through the locks!!!!! the only lock experience i have had was the lock we went through on the Ohio river this past summer. lol . but i do still have the myrtle to Charleston run saved on my plotter!!! Thats a good what? three hours? 2.5?

That is funny I was thinking something very similar for me. Diversion canal > Pinopolis Lock > Cooper River > meet up at mouth of the Cooper with crew from Myrtle > Hilton Head > return the next day

I will still be in Afghanistan till mid June. Will miss a lot of the boating season...

Damn. Leave the keys to your boat we will make sure it gets used.

Stay safe

I’ll always try to make one of these trips work. I am open to diversion>pinopolis>Cooper>Charleston meetup>return or drive to Charleston then trip to Hilton Head and back.

I plan to do Hilton Head this year as well. I have decided to do the great loop but I'm going to split it up over several years and do some of it over weekends to try and split it up. I hope to complete most of the Chesapeake down to Jacksonville Fl this year.
The great loop is the mother of all adventure trips! I had it in my head now for many years and I am about to just put the Nike logo into action and "Just do it!" ;-) So many trips rolling inside my head during winter that is hard to set priorities. So when all else fails, my one simple goal is to exceed the previous year number of trips and water mileage. 2018 dream list is long.... NC-Miami again and maybe in reverse?, in the hard category Key West to Cuba?, Da loop 1st leg NC-NYC, Bimini, Tennessee River 600 again, NC Outer Banks to VA, and at course all the local trips around NC & SC smaller trips while I take a break from the big trips. Hey, is a rough life, but somebody has to do the tough missions for America! ;-)

Hi @JROD we have been wanting to run the TN River from Chattanooga to Knoxville. Have you done that section (“Tennessee River 600”)?

@Seadeals , hi! Yes, 2018 will be our 3rd year doing the TEN River 600 miles Jet Ski run. Come join us this year. I have included a YouTube link that describes this whole awesome trip. Can also google Tennessee River 600.

@Wesley D keep a what out because there is a high probability for a 2018 trip. Looking at my work schedule for May, the only weekend in the whole month that works for me is May 12th/13th. Once we get closer to setting a date and if the 12th doesn't work for the majority I will still probably make a run on the 12th, it might work out we have 2 trips this year, time will tell.

I can do May 12 and 13th. Let me know. My wife, son and I will be coming from PA so let me know about accommodations and such. Thanks and Merry Christmas. Wes

Is this a round trip? From the itinerary I could not tell. Would they let 19 foot PWCs join :) we have the same engine after all.... This looks like a really cool trip.

I bet they would but you maybe better off trying to organize your own run as they charge by the person to join that trip. I think it's like $350 for the primary and $110 each additional person plus fuel, lodging, food and transportation back to your vehicle from the end. You would probably save $800-$1000 trying to plan it on your own.

My wife and I are planning on coming down that weekend. We don’t care what trip we do. Going to leave up here on Thursday and b ready to go Friday. Coming back home Monday. Just let me know what accommodations I need to secure. Savanna would b really cool but we are in with what everyone decides.
