I found a good article through Mercury Marine for cleaning your live well. I will probably give this a try some time soon.

Dude! That’s an awesome article! I’ve been using cleaning vinegar on mine to clean and deodorize it, I had never considered Hydrogen Peroxide, and to let the aerator run that through it. Again, awesome! @Liveto99 @fatboyroy @dels

I agree, I also use this product as well for the fish locker or any coolers that i had fishy smells in. It works as a good supplement to the normal dish soap cleaning routine for those items. A little goes a long way. the price goes down to 11$ from time to time.

Funny story.....when we get back off the water my wife cleans inside the boat, I clean outside. Unbeknownst to me she had just started spraying the livewells with bleach water cause they smelled icky.
We went out a day or so later, early, started catching bait and loading up the live wells. We took off from there and went to our fishing spot 15, 20 mins away.
Dead bait, scales falling off. Bait floating upside down, lol.
It took her a few hours before she sheepishly admitted to cleaning with bleach. Lesson learned.

I regularly use Dawn dish soap to clean the live well, and rinse with copious amounts of fresh water to keep it from smelling, copious amounts of fresh water, and I’ve never had an issue with fish or minnows cacking over.
