The newer style steering for that boat is considerably different than the old style, and yes there are a lot of people still running the earlier systems with high levels of satisfaction. The two types I have for your boat would be the Magnum steering , this is tempered aluminum with four different levels that you can set your fins at and each fin is independently adjustable so staggering them is also an option. Staggering is for people with twin engine boats who want to have a stagger on their fins perhaps the outside fins higher than the inside fins, these fins are larger than what you have now and they are compatible with the new fangs for power steering and even better reverse control.
The Next level is the ULTIMATES, they even larger with more adjustments available and the same tempered aluminum as the Magnums these too can be staggered , they are also spring loaded and they can be set to remain down at the depth you choose or they have a special setting for raising the fins up about 90 percent out of the water at speed if you choose that setting, so you get a variety of options and effects to give you a very versatile system that you can change from time to time when your needs change or your driving style changes. And like the magnum set the Ultimate set is also compatible with the FANGS.
