It hurts me deep inside

Be sure to wipe with a plastic bag--not just any bag. Make sure it is yours and has your name on it...

<ducking and running again>

Ok, as a follow up, I uncovered the boat and looked at the stain. Now I can only see Part of Capital "C", which is highly faded the rest is faded and gone. This is with the boat being covered for about a week. I will try some of the milder forms on the remaining letter and going to call it good.

Guess the sun is magical even through the mooring cover.

OFF bug spray. Will remove sharpie from anything.
Old Marine Corps trick.
This stuff. Not the foo-foo family stuff.

Magic eraser?
@F.M. and all fellow boaters......be very careful with "Magic Eraser" if it still has the formula it had a few years back there is formaldehyde in it. Yes, it will work initially then after a period of time the spot will turn yellow and there is no fix for that. I can not take credit for this info it was on a cruisers' website and got a lot of "agrees". I just asked my personal guru cleaner aka the Admiral who said watch-out for the Magic Eraser it can yellow things. :cool:

I am coming to terms with it a bit, but looking for a possible fix.

Last weekend we were out on the lake. Sandwiches were made at the house and on the outside of the sandwich ziplock bag everyone got their name written on theirs with a Blue Sharpie Permanent marker........ you can see where this is going.....

So I opened up my sandwich and put the bag face down on my white bench seat, not really thinking about it. After I was done with lunch I picked up the trash and noticed that my name is now in permanent ink in blue on the seat. I tried to wipe it off with water, alcholol from first aid kit, to no avail. By the end of the day it faded a good amount but you can still see it.

Not sure what to do or what to use to remove it completely. Any suggestions outside of replacing the cushion? Needless to say, marking things and any markers are permanently banned.
@HangOutdoors .....there is a special medical product that should be available at your local pharmacy. It is used to remove surgical dressings (two physicians in the family) it removes permanent marker or anything like it. It is called Solvo-Plast ll (adhesive remover). Of course, if you can find it or certainly (I would think a like product) - try it on a hidden area to make sure it does not harm your seat. I have used it on everything but (knock on wood) so far not on my boat seats. Know how you feel - best of luck - some (as always) great suggestions by forum members! Love this forum!!!!! :cool:

Sorry, there is no formaldehyde in it. See Dangerous Chemicals in Mr. Clean Magic Eraser

It is mildly abrasive, so it will dull out a spot and will remove a finish, which may lead to yellowing, so I still recommend caution.

I like this idea, I am using this!
