It's ski season

Bought some winter apparel today, looking to take our first shot at snowboarding soon.

Nice days skiing in breck. Thursday was very cold -28 windchill at one point. Friday woke to power being out at breck and keystone. Our little group of 5 thought , we will just go to vail since everyone has epic passes. We obviously were not the only ones. It looked like everyone from breck and keystone did the same thing. The lots were over loaded , the rodesides were all full. We went on to beaver creek. Had a ball at beaver creek. Got 12k + elevation with a late start. Skied breck today and it was as busy as I have ever seen. Skied all day and only got 6300 feet. Spent more time waiting in lift lines and riding lifts than we did skiing. We only went to the bottom twice. Head back in the am.

My kiddo and I decided to chase the powder and head to Wolf Creek last minute. OMG. I didn't think I would ever say it but yes there is a condition of too much snow. I have never seen anything like this. We skied today and it never stopped snowing. Visibility was very limited. Unless you were skiing black diamond faces you could barely move. As crazy as it sounds, we avoided any trails that had not been skied on yet. If you fell or a ski came off it was like being in zero gravity. There was no leverage to use to pick yourself up or stand. I honestly have never seen anything like this. Second day was absolute EPIC conditions. No wind, bluebird day, extreme powder if you wanted it, normal runs groomed but still powdery, just incredible. Best skiing I have ever seen. A local told me that Wolf Creek received around 7 feet of snow over the last 10 days.

damn I should have posted we were going too. Could have bought you a beer. We Skied 1/2 a day at Taos and drove up that night from Taos to Pagosa. Going back to Monarch/Crested Butte at least 2 more times (spring break and fist weekend of March).

We were there the 6th thru the 10th of Feb. The 8th we were at Beaver Creek, because the power outage.

Thanks, 2-8th, yeah the power outage was the last day we were there, ended up heading towards Denver and hung out in the city before our flights back home

It was freakishly cold on the 7 th huh. I kept riding up the Colorado Super chair freezing my butt off. We saw reports of -7 degrees and -28 windchill, all around those numbers.

yea we were on the peak 6 chair most of that day, they ended up shutting it down due to high winds, I heard someone say -17 up at the top...

Had the opportunity to ski Telluride for the first time on Tuesday. Just magnificently beautiful!

Headed for our yearly spring break trip to crested butte. Tons of snow, our last last day the high is supposed to be 35 to 36.

Morning 3 of 5 enjoying some quiet time as everyone is tired. Gonna boot up soon and get some early turns. It's not been busy at all early week spring break.

This past weekend our group The Killington Krew did the 24 hours of stratton . Our team came in second out of 80 with 5 of us in the top 10 and my 14 year old son came in first on a snowboard . We raised over $6,000.00 to help needy kids in southern Vermont. It was around 160 Runs some varied in length so when your on the mountain and feeling tired at the end of the day it is very possible to keep going for a long time.

I dont remember the runs names the second black mogul run at the end of the 3rd day. My legs were jelly. Took a rest for lunch. I got around 16k feet today.

My wife said she would like to go on one more trip and monarch is open until the 21st. I said monarch still has a 93 " base let's leave tomorrow. So she will be working from the Jeep tomorrow. One last trip

just got back from Breckenridge Co 2 days ago, i try to go at least 2x per season, last month i was on an overnite in Burlington and snowboarded Stowe, done Park City too, love Breck a bit of everything and walk to downtown a hit the bars, believe or not took my first lessons in Orlando fl

How was Stowe? We have had a lot of snow this year. We are 25 mins. North of Burlington

I liked it but just because Delta was paying for my stay in Burlington, I wouldnt got for a ski vacation, we like to hang around town at night and didnt see that in Stowe, with that said I had fun i was just me out there, the lifts were empty just a few people out on the slopes.
