I do statistics for a living, but when it comes to Bimini crossing weather is all about superstition. Savoring on good weather prior to departure is like feeding the Gremlins after midnight.
Prices vary greatly by location. In May Bimini Sands was $4.88 and Bluewater was $4.83. Bluewater charges 5% more for credit cards, Bimini Sands does not.
This is somewhat true. If you are using the SVRS system, you must file a float plan with passenger and vessel information AND activate it prior to departure. This is easily done on through a website.
BTW, I highly recommend the SVRS program. You clear into the US with a phone call, no need to drag your crew and boat to the customs office and wait in line. Call while on the intercoastal and you're done. Load the boat up and drive home...
That's why you have the appointment in person at a customs office for approval to participate in SVRS. You get finger printed and background checked prior to participation.
