On on the eve of the new year I’m going to throw something your way…
We have less days ahead of us than behind us, except the young ones of course, there is no future in the past, dwelling there only takes away from the happiness and new experiences that can be had today, we cannot change the past, but we can make sure the future is free from the our pasts errors or sorrow’s. Worrying about tomorrow also only takes away from today’s happiness and effects no change on the events that may or may not happen tomorrow.
Start out 2024 by eschewing everything negative that you can and only focus on positive things in your life. Only focus on things in your world that you have control over and make those things positive, visualize positive outcomes. The news for example, 99.1% of which has no direct bearing on your life, and you have no control over it, the remaining .9% which includes the weather, may or may not have direct bearing on your life, AND, you have no control over it. So why participate? As Mark Twain once said, “if you don’t read the news paper you are uniformed, if you do read the news paper you are misinformed”. Or as the WOPPR computer said to a young Matthew Broderick in the 1983 movie War Games, the only way to win is not to play.
