Hey all,

After being gone from the low country over 20+ years, I'm finally going back home to Charleston. I go back and forth several times a year visiting family and I'm comfortable getting around, however, what I am not too familiar with are marinas along the Cooper River. Looking at homes in Hanahan and North Charleston, so a marina close by would be ideal, especially as many of the communities we've looked at online have HOA's that would have a stroke if I parked my Yamaha in the driveway. For those of you boating in that area, any suggestions of reputable marinas would be a welcome. Plan on moving down either August or September.

Talk about crickets....

Does anyone know if @Stacey In SC is still around these parts?

She likely has a lot of knowledge that could help you out.

Also, if you have not already, you can use the member map to locate Charleston area JBNers and reach out to them directly: https://jetboaters.net/index.php?usermap/

Welcome to SC and yes it is full of HOA developments that don't allow boats it sucks. Marina's on the cooper I have not heard good things about any of them I would look at the spots om the Ashley river.

Thanks @robert843. I'm originally from Charleston, but have been gone a long time. Feels good to be heading back home. We're moving out to Hanahan, but looking at Rivers Edge marina on the Ashley River to keep my boat.

I have several friends who use Rivers Edge and they have all said good things. Every May we throw together a gathering where we run up the Cooper River to the Pinopolis Lock you should join us next year we usually have about 15 or so boats that do the run.

I'd definitely be on board for that trip. Seen videos of it and it looked pretty cool.

Update; finally made it back to the low country and the boat is at Rivers Edge. Pretty nice marina and the staff seems nice.

Excellent! Welcome back to SC @pagekl . We did the Cooper run one year; but didn't have much time to explore up the Ashley. Hope to be back down that way again to spend more time enjoying Charleston.

If you ever make a run up the Ashley, let me know.
