Hey all, just a quick intro post. I’ve been browsing this forum looking for info as I narrowed my shopping options for our next boat.

Background - been around boats for about 40 years. Started with an aluminum tiller boat, then onto a couple of runabouts, most recent was a 21’ Procraft fish and ski with a worked on 225 Merc Optimax. The Procraft was awesome on flat water (would run about 67 on gps), but down right scary on anything more than a chop.

We have a cottage on Chaumont bay in NY. For those not familiar, this is the largest freshwater bay in the world, and opens into Lake Ontario. The water is rarely calm! Couple this with the fact that my three daughters want to try some more watersports besides tubing, led me to look for a new boat. We have shallow water at our dock, which ruled out a V-drive, so a jet it is.

We just put a deposit on a 2021 212xd and are excited to get her home. Wasn’t really looking for a DRiVE model, but it was fit the bill in all other aspects (was limiting my choice to a 2017+ X model, so not a lot of choices). Was willing to drive up to 12 hrs for the right one, but this one popped up an hour away. Now just playing the waiting game (marina were buying it from said 7-10 days to prep it). Still, stoked to get out on the water!

Thanks for reading my ramble!
