New shorelander trailer falling apart!

What is the tongue weight you guys have? You might try shifting some load (or adding some) to the bow while on trailer to see if you get less bounce. You can also deflate the tires a bit.

I have noticed that when the boat was FULL of fuel it rode better. But Yesterday coming home with 60% load it drove great with no 68mph bounce. It is really odd.

Where is the fuel tank relative to your wheels? If it is forward of the wheels, that would make perfect sense.

I would still measure your tongue weight. I bet you are off on the loading proportions and adding fuel evens that out.

For2015-05-02 16.43.01.jpg those of you with shorelanders that tow smooth how much tongue weight do you have or can you put up pics of your trailer setup.

What hitch drop are you running with your ram? I've tried towing with 1/2" rise and reversed to 2" drop to put more weight on the tongue and the fenders on my trailer still shake horribly both ways.

Have you checked your hubs and bearings? Perhaps the castle nut(s) were set too lose and are allowing vibration at the hub/axle.

I tow mine with the trailer a little nose down. All stock with Carlisle tires. 09 f150 screw 4x4. Pulls smooth with no issues. I would have been losing it if the trailer didn't pull well. I pull about 4k miles a year and vibration would have been a deal breaker.

Can you jack it up and spin the wheel and check for runout?

I have pulled my boat from Florida to Michigan three times and once to Table Rock and back with no problems. I travel at or above 70 miles and hour all the time and the trailer pulls smooth. The tires run rough and bouce until they warm up because there not radials. I'm pulling the boat with a Ram 1500 with 20" tires and a 2 1/2 inch drop hitch.

Well i am fed-up.
These are on their way and should be here today or tomorrow from RecStuff.I hope it resolves the issue i think it is the bias-ply.

I put those same tires on my single axle. Very happy with them so far. Much smoother than the bias plys. Although I never had shaking bad enough to crack fenders.

IMG_0368.JPG IMG_0369.JPG IMG_0372.JPG My trailer fenders broke too. I went back to dealer and shorelander replaced broken parts. I think it's a poor design on their part as the shackle bolt goes thru fender bracket. As it works (trailer going over bumps) the bracket turns with bolt causing stress in the cheap plastic and alum tread plate. The dealer said they never seen this problem before. Dealer just replaced parts and I expect it to break again.

Wow, now that's going cheap on shorelanders behalf. We will all have this problem within a couple years.

anyone else with a 2015 24' having issues with thier trailer? Last week I noticed while gassing up that the fender bolts were very loose. I tightened them all up. This week it seemed that the fender was rattling on the highway, after getting home I noticed another bolt gone altogether. You may want to check your trailer for loose bolts!!
I noticed that the left fender was vibrating when towing to Ft. Lauderdale, so I took a closer look at it today. My new 2015 galvanized trailer lost 2 bolts and 3 nuts/washers on the left fender. I replaced the missing parts with stainless parts. I went with nylon-sleeved lock nuts.

I hope someone at Yamaha is reading all these posts and calling someone at shorelander to bitch at them. Pay $55k for a boat to have trailer parts falling off? I noticed today that my diamond plate over the fenders is splitting where the bolts are. Guess I need to look underneath for other cracks too.....

Here is my fix for my shorelander.. they just arrived. I will install soon and post up my results.

looks nice

Wow its a night and day difference. The new wheels and tires are so much smoother. Radials are the way to go for sure. Yamaha shouldn't be selling us a $60+ boat on biasply.
