Both ramps can do powerboats, if that's what you're asking. The NCWRC website for ramps (NCWRC Boating Access Areas) shows this for the Harris Lake ramps.

The northern ramp (Holleman's Crossing) has 91 boat trailer parking spots and the southern ramp off 42 (Cross Point Landing) has 125 spots.

Thank you! I read on the Harris Parks site that one ramp was only for non-powered boats. Good to know I can use both. I'm planning on the Southern ramp down by 42. I've never launched there so might go scout it out first.

The boat ramps are not at the park. I know quite a few people have made that mistake. The "ramp" at the park, if you could call it that, is just for canoes, and kayaks.

According to that the HWY 50 ramp is open. Now if it will be flooded or not is a different story.

Just checked Jordan's levels and it's at 226.5, normal is 216. So, yup that's still flooded. Damn!

Neighbor went to Harris yesterday and it was empty. I was having battery issues, so mine was on the charger and ended up not making it out. All is well after putting them on the tender for a few hours. So with the weather being cooler and cloudy today we figured it'd be empty. Show up to harris around 10ish and I'm about the 10th car deep and people already parking on the grass. Man, WTF!? I can't seem to catch a break with ramps lately. LOL! Fortunately my neighbor was a good 20 cars deep and had a friend that works with him that can back trailers. So he launched me, parked my truck, then launched my neighbor. Was so nice not having to deal with tying up a lane today. Also getting out in less than a minute was amazing too as he grabbed both our trucks for us when it was time to get out. I think the wives got first hand experience with how nice it would be with them being able to back the trailers. Hopefully I'll be taking Wed off and my wife can continue her backing lessons. We were going to let her try today, but it ended up being a zoo again.

We had a great time yesterday. I arrived at 9:30ish and no line at the ramp and parking lot less then half occupied. A friend arrived by 10am and had the chance to help someone there that were trying to launch for the first time (both with Axis). First time at Falls and we really liked this lake.

I think the wives got first hand experience with how nice it would be with them being able to back the trailers. Hopefully I'll be taking Wed off and my wife can continue her backing lessons.

My wife realizes she needs to learn, but does not like my teaching skills. Soon, we are also planning a mid-week trip to teach her. She can go park after launch, and pull it out, but backing with the boat is her fear.

Noticed the Jeep in the sig, how does it tow? We have a 2019 Trailhawk with the Hemi and air suspension but have not towed with it yet. I just prefer my diesel, but purposely bought the jeep as a back up tow rig.

Hemi here too, no issues with power. But I have standard suspension is maybe already tired shocks making a not smooth ride. You should be fine. My other car and my wife's car will not tow the boat. I am debating on made some upgrades like air bag, stiffer spring/shocks or change the car just for tow, which I will try to avoid. I have this lady for a while and you won't believe, but has been a reliable Jeep!

my wife is also not a fan of my teaching style. I wish I could get her to just watch some youtube vids on it, then give it a try. Thought about setting up the backup assist my F150 has, but realistically she just needs to learn how to back up a trailer.

Air bags are super easy to install on coil spring vehicles, and fairly cheap. I put them on my wrangler to tow my boat before I got my truck. Still have the jeep, just no longer tow with it.

I have a 2015 Grand Cherokee Limited V6 with tow package (has self leveling shocks). At 82K miles, it's been very reliable except for a couple of wheel bearings.

Towing with it has been no problem locally but I can't really picture it for long hauls. Just driving on Rt 1 South from Cary Parkway -- hitting a constant 70mph is tough as it drops to 5th gear for gradual uphills. It's more comfortable at 62-65mph so that's what I do. We have actually been considering getting a more recent V8 GC to replace it to tow with.

So, I'd imagine you would be just fine with the Trailhawk/Hemi, even if it's a different feel from your diesel.

Anyone been to Jordan lately? I took tomorrow off to hopefully get a day without crowds and get some good surfing in. Water height still says it's 7ft above normal, but they're letting out 11,400 cubic sq ft of water out a second at the dam. So, not sure if that water height directly translates to being 7ft above normal at all parts of the lake.
