Just a heads up I received a message to posting i had posted in this section looking for a full mooring cover. Message contained a direct email address. However when I asked what year boat the cover came off of he stated 2016. Well thats interesting because Yamaha did not build the 210 until 2017. So I asked for pictures and the pics provided came from Jet Boat Pilots website. I figured I'd play along and asked if that was the actual cover. His response "Yes Sir" I replied back , that's interesting being those pictures are from Jet Boat Pilots. He than ask what year I was looking for. So just beware we have some trolleys looking to scam.

I think I may have gotten something similar. I'm looking for a wake booster and I got a dm from someone who gave me an email. When emailing, he was really short and seemed to not have many answers as I was asking. My guard was definitely up after the first reply. Then I mentioned a wake wedge and he magically had one of those (stock picture) for sale. So then I knew something was up. Most likely a scam!

Yeah had a good feeling about it. I'm trying to find the inbox direct message from the person who gave me his email. It looked like he just joined this group. If I can get to it I'll screenshot it and post it. People got nothing better to do.

Branfon45 is the user that made the referral. So either one and the same or the lead man in the scam

As with anything proceed with caution, If I was selling something I wouldn't hesitate to give multiple pictures with dates to confirm the merchandise is real, if I was buying I doubt I would buy from someone who I couldn't meet face to face or doesn't at least participate in posts, that being said, I've bought items from members here sending money first and I received items from members before I've even paid for them,


I also am on a couple of shooting sites and the scammers there are just overwhelming, so much that on one site you have to have a 50 post min. to be able to post/respond in the for sale section,
the current workaround for the scammers is to troll the 'want to buy" and either private message or post on the WTB member's profile page a message saying they have the item for sale,

I got the same email address saying he had a trailer for sale if I needed one, I asked for specs and several other questions and he sent me a pic of a small aluminum trailer with no other details. I mentioned that it was a small trailer so he sent me a pic of a tandem axle steel trailer that had a bunch of braces welded to it?‍ That’s where I stopped, I got another email asking if I was still interested..

I will be first to admit that more often than not I forget this is not a closed forum. I blame it all on the fact that most people are awesome. But indeed we have to be on the lookout for people who want to take advantage of the biggest JetBoat forum in the world. The curse of being number one 1 I guess!!!

We have quite a few spammers / scammers try to join each day. Hundreds are blocked automatically for each one that gets a manual review. Perhaps one in a thousand actually gets in.
