My 2012 FZS has been running strong at 82+ (GPS speed) with an ET LB wheel, Fizzle IC and Stage 3 tune with only a single clutch replacement that I did myself. The SC'd SHO/SVHO powertrains are very strong and reliable but the clutch is a wear item, all in replacement cost me about $600 in parts and tools and a day in the garage and I'm no mechanic. I'd say you're missing out on some fun going NA but to each their own.
Straight tubed a KN filter, engine breather and removed the cover which is good for at least .1 mph... lol. I keep meaning to get around to a Fizzle, wheel, Dean's Team flash and repitch but other projects keep getting in the way. Besides, it runs great up to 50 now and pulls fine getting out of the water with a board and tubes so my ski remains my speedy mod machine. When/if the clutch goes I'll probably revisit and do all the mods then.

I've got a Fizzle 1000 with a genuine TiAL 50mm BOV on my FZS. That was back before he had it as a standard option and I'd already purchased the TiAL BOV to just run on the Riva silicone IC to SC tube but decided to upgrade ICs. Luckily I was able to talk Jim into welding on the correct flange so I could run it. Now of course he sells them preconfigured that way, I really like the snappiness of the TiAL for the Ski since you're on and off the finger throttle all the time but not sure it's necessarily required for a boat so you could go with the knockoff BOV if you wanted to save some cash. Pulling the intake manifold and drilling/tapping both ends (1 for the BOV and 1 for a boost gauge) was the hairiest part both for drilling into a perfectly good manifold and also because reaching those bottom bolts in the ski opening is a pain in the rear. But you have to remove it anyway in order to take out the intake restrictor ribbon so I knew how to get it done quicker the 2nd time. Of course with all the extra room in the boat motor bay you can get that off much easier.
Sad on several levels…1 Got rid of a boat that just needed a little fixin, 2-Sad that the boat was probably sold for way less than its worth, 3- Sad that we apparently lost a member of the group.
I sent him a DM a little while ago asking about the dealership he was talking about with no response. We live just a few minutes from each other and wanted to know who he was talking about. Since I found a dealer that is a power sports dealer and I think that is who he was referencing. They had a nice selections of 2023 in stock, where as before the closest Yamaha dealer was around an hour to hour and a half drive. The dealership has an average of 6k markup out the gates on the MSRP. I hope that is not who he was talking about as the people I know around here that tried to do business with them had nothing but bad things to say about it.

He was talking about Chatlee. I think there's only 2 Yamaha dealers that sell boats around here....wellllll maybe 3. I think there may be one in Charlotte. When I was searching around There was Performance East, Chatlee, and one in Danville (I think), VA. Performance east was the first to hit me up after my online inquiry. Actually within an hour of putting in the request. Chatlee I've heard has better pricing, and I've only ever heard rave reviews about their service center.....until this thread anyways.

I know he did not like Chatlee, but he was also talking about a place in Wilmington that checked out his boat. There is only 1 place here that sells Yamaha Jet Boats now. I on the other hand have a complete opposite experience with Chatlee. That's where I got my boat and had a few things addressed by them after delivery. They were nothing but awesome to deal with. As to the dealerships. Yeah there is Chatlee in Sanford, Performance East in Goldboro. And I'm looking at the Yamaha site dealer locator, Wilmington Powersports is now listed as well. I don't have any experience with them personally, other than seeing their way overpriced boats and things boaters I know around here told me.
