The Brand New 2017 Yamaha AR195 and SX195

@EmeryZ28 Wow we don't have views like that in Oregon! As long as every thing is running and sounding good you won't have any issues waiting till 11.5 hours. My dealer just told me to makes sure and service it before you hit 20 hours.

Had another awesome weekend, Saturday went out in Tampa Bay with 2 of my buddies and we docked at Bahama Breeze. Sunday, hit the gulf islands, specifically Three Rooker islands with the wives and kids. Had an amazing time, such a friendly group of boaters.. Question, I am at 9.5 hours. Should I take the boat in early for 10 hour service, or would it be fine to take it in at 11.5 hours after I go out next Saturday?

I would not take the boat in for a 10 hour service unless you just want to burn hundreds of dollars for the hell of it. If that's the case bring it to me and I'll charge $100 less than any dealer will charge you....kidding of course :D

a 10 hour service is an oil change, inspect spark plugs, add lube to the intermediate bearing housing and then do a visual inspection of any bolts around the boat and on the trailer and tighten them if need be. Your warranty will not be void if you work on your own boat. Just need to make sure you have it documented and you'll be fine. There is enough info and help on here to tackle dang near anything on this boat yourself and save a bunch of coin. That and the fact you know it will be done right and not have to second guess some shop mechanic hopefully doing it right and caring about your boat like you would, plus the downtime and hassle of leaving it at the dealer.

You're fine at 11.5 hours lol. I think I did my 10 hour service right at 13 hours because I was on the lake the day it rolled over 10 hours...you know enjoying the boat and wasn't going to pull it out exactly at 10 hours when we still had a full day ahead of us.

Wakeboard speed?
What speed and rpm's are people running when wake boarding behind an AR195? Also what rope length? I generally run 18 - 19 mph with 80 feet of rope but it seem that speed is right at plan and the boat can't hold that speed so curious to hear what others are doing.

This is why many people invest in an after market speed control addon like Perfectpass or the new Ride Steady(not certain of the name of the latter as it is so new...but involves less installation). I installed Perfectpass on my 2005 and called it the Marriage saver!

So i'm gathering that using cruise control won't hold the boat steady at 18 MPH??? I've heard the term "Perfectpass" mentioned on this site a couple of times. Jetpilot Group Buy Maybe?

I think you would have to be a masochist to order PerfectPass over Ridesteady. The only problem with Ridesteady - it is not compatible/offered for the 230s because of the throttle linkage design. All 1.8 and non-HO twins (all of which have the APS throttles) are compatible.

Agree with @swatski . The new ridesteady is the way to go vs the mechanical PerfectPass IMO. If I had the coin I'd already have it on my boat as my wife cannot get the hang of pulling me up easily and smoothly. To the point I'm thinking of launching off the swim deck once I've got the speed I need for a wave vs deep water starts.

Compare this nearly plug n play installation of Ridesteady vs PerfectPass with its servo motor.

I was pulling the kids on the tube this weekend and thought I was a buffoon because I would start accelerating evenly then the RPMs's would drop, then I would move the stick forward an they would spike back up then smooth out again. I am guessing this has to do with that "zone" of movement where the no wake and cruise button works?

either way I thought I was either an idiot or something was wrong with the boat, I guess that is normal?

The No Wake is based on RPM's and can be engaged between 3,000 - 7,000.

I noticed spinning around at the dock just after launching was very good.. the rest of the day hard to tell as the Columbia was like boating in a washing machine... very rough and current was very fast.. wish I could give you more of a report...

I did notice a flaw maybe with jet only that weekend though... a few times I could not cross a boats wake in front of me... I had the wheel cranked and WOT and I was stuck "surfing" there wake...

Would you happen to have the Yamaha Pin # for the Yellow SuperCharger decal. Dealer never ended up getting it for me and i actually forgot about it with all the other mods i was doing.
After all I went through to get them, I didn't even think about asking for correct PN...I think I was so socked I actually had them I forgot to ask them. If I get by there again I'll ask if they can look up my order and get the correct PN.

Had an awesome weekend on the water. Spent both Sat and Sunday out on the boat, Saturday me and two buddies went out on a recon mission, then Sunday we took the wives and kids along with 4 jet ski's as well. Boat drove great, kids enjoyed swimming off the back and the JL Audio tower speakers were awesome for projecting music to the beach/island we were anchored at. I was shocked at how much stuff I was able to store on the boat. Little grill, 2 yeti soft coolers, tailgating tent and loads of food and towels all inside the storage areas and nothing in the way of seating or standing. loving this thing so far!

I have found that I can pair my Android with the Marine audio deck no problem. Was enjoying some SiriusXM and Pandora all weekend
Can you tell me the model of speakers and the amp you went with? Also how do you control the volume on just the tower speakers?

Can anyone tell me what the allen head screw is next to the gas cap? Can't figure it out for the life of me.

to the last two posts:

I got the JL Audio tower speakers and JL Amp, it came with a little knob that is mounted right next to the marine audio heat unit and the USB/power outlet in the glove box and it controls the volume of the tower speakers.

JL AUDIO
M770-ETXv3: 7.7" Enclosed Tower Coaxial System, Gloss Black, Sport Grilles
JL AUDIO
M200/2 Class D Full-Range Marine Amplifier

I am fairly certain that allen head screw next to the gas cap is a breather for the gas tank
