So I just received my second Moderna shot a 12pm today. What have most that have received their 2nd Moderna shot experienced the days after? I have heard the second day can have different issues.
All of the SARS-CoV-2 vaccines in use in the UK require two doses.
Different vaccines have different dosing protocols. The J&J SARS-CoV-2 vaccine is a single dose but it is clear that it provides less benefit. It is likely that a second dose of J&J would provide additional benefit. In general the more exposures and the more recent the exposure the stronger the immune response will be.

Both doses of Moderna made me feel a little fluey from perhaps 12 hours to 36 hours after dosing. I had ~30 minutes of cold chills after the second dosing. I was able to carry my 145 pound son up the stairs despite the fluey feeling so not really that sick.

I didn't sleep well that night of my second shot. Mild chills kept me up.
Those mild symptoms hit about 8 hours after my shot and lasted around 10-12 hours.
I saw a post the other day doing some numbers and once again it sounded crazy, so I went to the CDC to look at numbers. Please correct my math if incorrect.
All data from CDC website
Cases
US population = 330M
COVID Cases = 41M
- Overall 1 in 8 chance of getting covid in the US.
Deaths 656K / 41M
- Overall 1 in 62 chance of dying from covid
Total fully vaccinated in US = 178M
Breakthrough and Hospitalized (dead or not) = 14K
Dead breakthroughs = 2675
- 1 in 12,700 chance of getting real sick if you are fully vaxxed.
- 1 in 66,542 chance of dying from covid if you are fully vaxxed.
Marion Gruber, director of the FDA’s Office of Vaccines Research and Review, and her deputy director, Phil Krause, set to leave in October and November, published a viewpoint in The Lancet on Monday along with other experts worldwide, arguing that the COVID-19 vaccines remain effective in preventing severe disease, including against the highly transmissible and dominant delta variant. They are resigning from the FDA over the blanket administration of booster shots to everyone.
Until there is more research done I would not be running out to get a booster shot.
Agree. For the 4th fucking time as the original OP of this thread. Please close it. As I’ve said before it’s an echo chamber that’s not doing anyone any good. I’ve unwatched it, but I come back cause I see it in new posts. It saddens me to see such a thread causing such division amongst this membership.
The original intent of this thread early on was to share where and how to get the vaccine and how it affected you post jab. It was never intended to be; should you or should you not get the vaccine. I’m so disappointed it has turned in to this.
For the love of God and all that is peaceful, please, please, close this thread and move on.
I am grateful for the opportunity to partake on this forum and in this thread.
I will say that on another boating forum, that I used to spend way to much time on, certain threads do not come up on the what's new listing. This means that a tread that some might view as controversial is not always in your face as a thread with new material. Maybe a similar thing could be done here? That way anyone interesting in the thread would get a notification of new content or could hunt it out, yet it wouldn't keep popping up in the What's New.

Agree and will add that although many talk points have most likely been hashed and rehashed, there are 116 pages. This is a new concern of mine and the chance to post a question and get great feedback quickly is very helpful. I hate that some may take sides and not recognize the freedom for personal choice but I have a feeling it is much less in a group like this then the real world we live in.
Have You Been Fully Vaccinated?
In general, people are considered fully vaccinated:
2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine
If you don’t meet these requirements, regardless of your age, you are NOT fully vaccinated. Keep taking all precautions until you are fully vaccinated.
---
If you have a condition or are taking medications that weaken your immune system, you may not be fully protected even if you are fully vaccinated. You should continue to take all precautions recommended for unvaccinated people until advised otherwise by your healthcare provider. People with moderately to severely compromised immune systems should receive an additional dose of mRNA COVID-19 vaccine after the initial 2 doses.
Many folks miss the 2 week part of Are You Fully Vaccinated.
Hate it for this young man with side effects from the vaccine. This is just one reason why I don't agree with the Federal Gov't mandating anything. Leave it to the individuals and their own health doctors and family docs who know their history best.
no apology necessary but I wouldn’t have seen the response above if I didn’t go back to catch up on this thread. You need to put at @ symbol in front of my screen name for me to get a flag on it. Lol, This response is ironic given the message I’m responding to.

This kid said the NCAA is forcing students to get vaccinated and he is 100% wrong. According to the NCAA, you have a choice to be vaccinated or not. I'm sure this video will get posted on every anti-vax along with certain websites and people will believe what this kid is saying without knowing the facts.
For him to say he should have been informed about side effects it's written right on the Covid vaccine immunization administration record form.
I'm sure he had to fill out a form like this and sign it. If he didn't read it then it's on him, he's an adult.

I agree there are warnings posted of the side effects. The problem is our education system flat out sucks and a lot of young adults and kids these days can’t “be bothered” with reading if it involves more than Snapchat or IG posts. I don’t read 25 pages of documents when signing for a vehicle or massively long ToS agreements, so I get it sometimes, but not when it comes to health IMO. That being said you do bring up a good point in that people should read into it more and it’s ultimately on them. When it comes to health one should really research and weigh out their options before putting anything in their body. Imagine if you had no choice (mandate) to take it and had serious issues or long term effects.... Who’s to blame or at fault then? You can’t sue these folks IIRC. He should have read it more and I’m sure there’s many others who should have too. In today’s media driven age perhaps his video will help get the message out to others who otherwise might not read, so there is that plus side of it.
Regardless of the issue he didn’t read them or not, it still sucks he is having to go through bad side effects from the vaccine. He is not alone either. I’m just saying it sucks and I feel for him is all. Even those that have died from taking the vaccine and nobody every hears of them. There are GBS cases popping up too which is concerning seeing as how this was an issue with the last major vaccine rollout program.
That 3rd shot consent section is wrong IMO. Should be the FDA calling the shots not the CDC in regards to vaccines, drugs and medicine. With two top brass FDA officials stepping down due to government meddling and pushing them disregarding safety and bias it should raise eye brows for anyone concerned with what they are putting in their body. At this point I do not think I’ll be getting a booster or letting my child get the vaccine when she turns 12 in a month or so. Just too many unknowns and concerns for me to feel at ease about it.
Personally I didn’t listen to his story and hear it as if he was saying he was actually forced to take it by the NCAA. I heard it as him voicing his concerns that it should not be made mandatory by the NCAA and I agree with him.
