Tower Lowering and Raising without a helper

I finally found a solution to lowering the tower on my 2021 Yamaha 212XD by my self.

Superstick Push Pole Telescopic 6-12

I leave it in the boat when I’m going to be alone. Before I remove the locking pins on the tower I extend the pole with the ‘Y’ end supporting the tower and the end with the soft rubber foot jammed into a lower corner in the bow. Once the locking mechanism is engaged on the pole it will not slide back or retract. It’ll hold the tower in the upright position while you remove the tower lock pins. After the pins have been removed you grab the tower with one hand to hold it up while you release the locking mechanism on the pole with your other hand. Then you can softly lower the tower in a controlled fashion and the pole automatically retracts.
