So the anchor mount/locks in our SX230 have been pretty deficient in our experience with the black swivel latch having snapped off on one side, rotating open with the vibration/bumps of the boat and the slot being too long which allows too much lateral motion with the anchor. Since the wife mans the anchor and brought it to my attention, naturally it was bumped to the top of the "must fix" list.

The first option was to 3D print a beefier "latch", but even with the screw and nylock nut it was difficult to get consistent tension to ensure that it wouldn't swivel open underway like the OEM latch.

So of course as a result we went down the rabbit hole of the iterative process and ended up with this - a sliding latch that has detents on the underside that engage with the screws so that you've gotta *click* the latch open or shut. That coupled with shortening the notch of the anchor block has allowed the anchor to sit snugly and not move at all underway. Most importantly we took it out for its test run yesterday and its wife approved. I'm not certain as to whether the detents will wear down over time but it went through a good number of test clicks at home before installation so I assume it should last a good while.

That’s an awesome bit of kit!

Are you going to make those available for purchase?

Great job!

Thanks. I'm not sure, someone else recommended it. I'm just honestly not a huge fan of dealing with customer service lol.
