Guest, we are pleased to announce that Hydrophase Ridesteady is offering an extra $100 off for JETBOATERS.NET members on any Ridesteady for Yamaha Speed Control system purchased through March 7th, 2025. Ridesteady is a speed control system (“cruise control”) that uses GPS satellites or engine RPM to keep your boat at the set speed you choose. On twin engine boats, it will also automatically synchronize your engines.
I have one viral video that had over 6 million views in Australia, as it was pirated and spread on a couple boating forums. But is has close to a half million on my channel. I do have a couple instruction videos that have a fair number of hits as well.
As a teenager my family had a condo in the Ozarks (mile 20) and there was a restaurant there called "Happy Fisherman". The place has a unique atmosphere with boat motors mounted all over the place, which I always thought was cool. Can't say if I remember that the food was any good or not. I was at a point in life when I was trying to learn how to be content. Seems crazy to think about that now, that I was thinking that as a teen. Took the approach of being happy with the fish you have caught (be whatever scenario I was in). It's a good reference for me to stay appreciative and stay humble.

You can do a sub move with any jetboat. It was just easier with that one. It was our 20' SeaDoo X20. It had nothing to do with weight, and all with the drivers control. No damage and nobody was hurt. As it was like our fifth (and final) one for the day.
We owned that boat for like 3 years after and it performed flawlessly with no issues at all mechanically or electronically. Throw yours into reverse at 30mph and watch the bow dip. But warn your passengers, as it will toss them out of their seat. The boats will drain right out the floor drain and scupper valve. Most do it just for a quick spray of course, not to flood the cabin.
You can ATTEMPT a sub move with any jet boat. Not all of them will dip the front under
I tried it no less than 5 times this past weekend. At 37-38mph I slammed the throttle in reverse on my '17 AR190, and got nothing but a REALLY fast stop. Even with 3 adults and 4 kids in the bow I can not get it to dip under the water. Gunwales are just too high on this hull to make it happen.

That's probably more true than anything. I only dip our 242, but have never got it to the water line. That's fine by me, we had our fun in our previous boating lives. Now, all I need to do is dip it a bit, and everyone looks at me like, "is this the next one like the one you showed us?" HA! I love the reaction!
Mine is boring/uncreative. I live in MN and my sports number growing up was mainly 19. I'm on a few different car forums with the same name so I kept it in case anyone wanders over here from those.

I'm old enough to remember when gaming first started.... in the mid 90s there was a WW2 dog fighting game I played alot. I even bought a new desk top that could have the graphics with something like 733 megabits processor with a dedicated telephone line in the house just to run the computer on the 56.k modem if that gives u an idea how long ago it was. The game would put your screen name on the side of the fighter you flew... I couldnt come up with a name so the computer suggested a few... the bronzed_lemon came up. I thought it sounded stupid enough that I wanted it on my plane so when I shot you down it would tell u the bronzed lemon shot you down!. Over time it just shorted to bronze10.

I loved/still love any game aviation related. Can’t say I remember the one ur referring to but it is incredible how realistic they’ve become. R u still into them? I’m looking forward to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 to be released. Looks insane!
I generally prefer anonymity, but who am I kidding, how much of that is left in today's day and age? Daryl Gene Friesen, aka, dgfreeze. I've really enjoyed reading all the interesting stories of how and why people ended up with their more "unique" handles. Pretty much the only nickname I've ever had is "friesenmyballsoff", but I'm not sure I want that to be my username...
I'm convinced there isn't another boat on the market that can "E-Stop" like a Yamaha. Not sure how the Chaps/Scarabs (Rotax powered boats) do in that maneuver though.
