I love Old Fashions. I'll have to try this.I've been using a Sous Vide lately to pre-make old fashions. Very happy with the results. I found the recipe on Reddit and I skip the cherries. Load up a quart mason jar with the ingredients, sous vide at 130F for 3 hours, strain it back into a bottle. When ready to drink, pour yourself a drink, shake bitters and add ice. Warning, the number of old fashions you consume will greatly increase.
Old Fashioned (serve over ice with a dash of bitters)
- One bottle of bourbon
- Zest of one orange
- 1/3 cup pure cane sugar
- Half a dozen maraschino cherries
I've got a bit of a collection myself. Blanton's is my go to (as evidenced by the 5 bottles stashed). Itching to open the Stagg Jr, just haven't yet. One of my favorites was Orphan Barrel's Forged Oak. If I could get my hands on anything from them again, I would.Forgot I snapped these pictures for you guys. Neighbor has quite the collection going, said it was OK to share.

They don’t, but it’s my go to for brown liquor served neat.Glenfiddich has a Bourbon? I though they only made Scotch (though they do have a Bourbon barrel variety, I know...)?
