@buckbuck it took a while but finally got the door in today. It fits with about 2” to spare. I went 2” above what the door company told me & Im lucky I did or I’d have to notch the drywall for the cable drums. It’s about 4” clearance from the door to ceiling when open so I’m hoping my lights fit. Please update how things turn out as this issue is one I am struggling with as I design a garage.
Yes about 17” once the drywall was in.@AZMark
So if I remember correctly you had 17 1/2" above the door to the joist. Correct?
Please explain the operator they are recommending. Are you going to fit a rail above the door? Is it a jack screw?
I would love to keep my boat in a garage with the tower up. Very jealous.
Getting a boat this spring and live in Aubrey, TX. What does that slip run ya?
I had no idea you could get a residential jack shaft opener. Nice to know.
Poor boat looks cold!View attachment 140059Finally got our 30’x45’ Pole Barn built, with (2) 16’ Wide by 12’ Tall Doors on opposite sides of the barn. I had the doors offset from center so I can tuck the boat off in the corner during the winter. It stays on the lift during the summer, about 250’ to the north of barn.
Poor boat looks cold!
Can you push it sideways in there on those dollies by yourself?
