Just got a snail mail letter from a local boat dealer.....they are selling their boat AT DEALER INVOICE because they are way overstocked.......what a change!
When I picked my boat up from the service dept last week, the dealer had atleast 1 of every model from 190s to 275s and in multiple colors. As stated above, what a change in the market since I got mine in 2021.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see some dealers offering up lower than market financing rates or other dealer incentives in the future as well. I’m not sure how the boat world works, but if memory serves in the automobile world the dealers get a certain amount of money from the manufacturer(s) at the end of the year, so, the dealers are still making money even when they paid “dealer invoice” to get the vehicles.
When i purchased my boat August of 2016 i paid 4 grand off sticker. Most likely because the 2017s were on the way soon.
Seems like we are close to those times once again
Right now you don't have to look hard to find a new yamaha boat in stock and getting a deal on it. I see it becoming more of a buyer's market as time goes on.
Next up is the auto industry coming down from the stratosphere, I hope. I might actually buy a gasser if they want to sell for what it's worth. Anyway, ordering a boat in a couple of years may be a custom order type process, which is not a bad thing.
Since my 2017 Expedition comes off warranty in March, and apparently it needs the struts replaced (which even though the warranty covers struts, Ford classifies them as shocks - WHICH they are not), which are not being covered under warranty and the Dealer want's $3,400 to replace all of them, I have been looking at vehicles as well, and they are nuts on the prices.
Hoping there is substantial movement on both Boats and Vehicles over the next 4 months or so...
