Why aren't you boating? (A place to brag or vent)

Been flying more than boating lately.

Whoaaa! how did I miss this one? I think that would be a hard bug to shake once you got it down,

You bought your own set up ??
how long does a tank of gas last?
how much training before you went solo ?

Waiting for mother nature to release her icy grip... This Sucks!

Went shed hunting today. Found a nice symmetrical pair. Also was able to get real close to this Axis Buck with beautiful new velvet rack. Finally walked up on a hog den and spooked (6)large adults out of their home.502A43CD-7324-46F9-80E3-E1BE45588AB8.jpegB004CB75-4654-480F-8B2A-992F1BF8C089.jpegCA5AF9A0-4773-462F-9656-CC538E5D9795.jpeg

It’s more of an addiction than boating, for sure.
yes, I bought my own equipment, my fuel tank is 3+ gallons, could probably last about 4 hours. But its hard to physically fly for over 2 hrs. I trained for several days before flying, many flights before comfortable flying on my own. Currently, I’m at about 100 flights.

Still a bit premature here...

This is yesterday's spring snowfall. It all melted overnight.

50°'s and a random 60° in March. Then we pray for the 70°+ weekend in April to get out there. I need this month to end...

Aloha Gang, in Hawaii we’re starting off 2020 with the UGLIEST weather?. It’s been consistently raining and super windy. I hope @Scuba_ref is ok Big Island of Hawaii catching cracks right now flashflood warning??. That being said the Yammies haven’t been out, they’re high and dry. So what us Hawaiians do when the weather is junk.

Pa’ina??! Always Blessed to have great Ohana and friends. Captain Kawika a commercial fisherman and very good friend. Gave me a call and said he’s coming over. He stopped by the house and told me the day before he caught couple nice Ahi(Yellowfin Tuna) and gave me a slab. Theses guys r crazy going out in these conditions, but that’s there livelihood. So what do I do, buss out couple steaks and cut that fish up. Some Ahi Sashimi, Oyster Sauce Poke, Kimchi Style Poke, Ponzu Sesame Tofu, and Some perfectly grilled Steaks cut up Pupu style. Stay Blessed Gang. Cheeee!??

my kind of party!

My sister flew in from Tahoe, so we pushed our way through the snow in the Wildcat down onto our lake. The snow is so deep we almost got stuck a number of times in the middle of the lake in the snow (no slush yet) Video to come!

So I got the video edited down from riding with my sister at the beginning of the month. Tons of snow back then, now it has melted off and we have glare ice! But still 18" of ice on the lake and it's not going away any time soon! So we make due with what we have.

Perfect weather to punch some hole and do some fishing at a safe distance!!

Our county decided to close down all the boat ramps yesterday mid day. I never get out that late, but the one day I do I missed it by 10mins. I ended up driving north 45mins to another county. Looks like things are going to get crazy here.

Got up early today to find an overcast sky, and cool breeze. It's a Good Friday.
Working from isolation, in our isolated home, it's a Good Friday.
Ice melted off in spots, and froze back up again, it's a Good Friday.
It's still only the first half of April, spring is on the way...

It is, a Good Friday

So we finally cracked 50 degrees in North Central MN!! I had to go pull the baby out of storage. The ice went out of the bay just yesterday, but the lakes are still froze solid. I hope to have the waverunners in the bay this week!

We've already made out out twice this season 2 & 3 weekends ago. Both days under 60°... missed last weekend because of wind and rain... But I love the warm up I'm seeing in this forecast. First 80° degree day of the year.

Heading out tomorrow. ?

I am not boating due to two words, "Lock Down". This sucks. I am really ready for a reopening. Weather here has been perfect. ?

I could not wait any longer. I had to see if I could get from the landing to our bay. Not quite yet, but at 69 degrees, this had to happen. I usually try to get on a waverunner on my birthday. I missed it by one day. Soon though!

We may find an open lake to get the big boat in today!!!

It's either windy for no reason, hot and windy, or cold rainy and windy...
40°+ temperature drop between Friday and Monday.

It's heading east, so get ready...

Anyone else out there use Wind Alert? It seems to be very accurate and helpful in predicting lake conditions here. Check out the map and click on the station your interested in and it gives current and forecast conditions.

We use the Windy app.

Tropical Storm Cristobal hindered our weekend boating plans.

Tropical Storm Cristobal hindered our weekend boating plans.
Looks like that will be the case for a lot of people in the coming week... our little weekend thunderstorms were a baby by comparison...

Here’s my latest flying video.
