For the guys that have switched to the SVHO intercooler, where did you get the extra hose to either make the T/Y fitting or run a second dedicated line? Is it 1/2 inside diameter?

Thanks.

I got mine at O'reilly Auto Parts. I got 3 feet but you will not need that much but I wanted some extra as a backup. Yes just tell them 1/2 inside diameter heater hose. I think it cost me like 4 dollars and it was way better than the OEM on the boat. Much thicker. Your going to love the upgrade @Buckeye Boater

Same with me. I went to the local auto parts store and used radiator cooling hose.

Ok got my svho intercooler installed and added a dedicated line. I will be swapping out the factory pissers to the silver ones. Yes or no on adding the black decal.

I think it looks better with the black decal.

@Rick Owens tough choice. I like both the stock and black so I'm of no help :D.

Yea that looks really nice! The black blends in with the other black pieces nicely. Great job @Rick Owens

Today I never realized how much of a difference in speed is impacted if you have people in the bow. Headed out on the lake with the wife and kid and we were hitting 7600 but my top speed was lower than usual and at 45 MPH. I had them move to the back to see how big of a difference and my speed went back up to my usual 49 MPH, maybe a tick lower for the added weight and gear. That small amount causing the bow to sit in the water more really does have a big impact.

Thanks! Hard to drill on a new boat lol. I know what you mean about having people up front. But as I recall when I had a stern drive it would also lose Speed with people in the bow. At lest you got to go today. Rain and wind all day here today. The way I look at it when all the family goes I usually set it on cruise around 6000 rpm and run about 25-28 mph. Also helps on fuel. I don't run at WOT all the time but it's hard not to lol. It would just be nice to hit 48-49 when you did have extra people on the boat.

Most times when the family is with me we usually cruise 25-30 MPH or a lot of idling along the banks. My wife does not like going fast lol but I had to at least see how it did with the ribbon delete with extra weight. I may put mine back in because it seems to make the engine a little louder although it sounds throatier so kind of nice too lol.

Sounds like my wife. Anything over 25 and she tells me to slow down lol. So did you see any gain with the ribbon delete and would you recommend.

Personally for the time it took to install and all the crap to remove, I don't feel it was worth it. I especially don't think sleeves are worth it. Main difference I felt was improved throttle response and it felt a little punchier out of the hole and when you stab the throttle while underway. Only gained 1/2 MPH on average. Engine also sounds a little louder and throatier which may be appealing to some and annoying to others. Maybe ribbon delete helps those at altitude more than those close to sea level (I'm at 600').

Here's my results video

Wow! Nice to see this thread is still going strong! As everyone is saying, an aftermarket IC makes a huge difference! Just an update on my project. Its been a year and my Fizzle IC is still going strong. Definitely a more expensive route but at the time SVHO ICs were kinda hard to find20160511_184958.jpg

50+ (gps) all summer in this lovely hot SC weather with 4 people and gear (2 are kids) prior to the mod i could do around 48 leaving tbe ramp but as soon as the heat soak set it, it would drop to 40mph max. I've also done the ribbon delete and aftermarket air filter so far.20160617_110714.jpg

@JerryG what air filter did you go with? I've done the ribbon delete and SVHO intercooler swap and my top speed is usually 48-49 MPH all day. If my wife and daughter sit in the bow I've found it will scrub a few MPH of top speed. Ribbon delete didn't seem to gain me but about .5 MPH but it did improve throttle response and hole shot (but now with some cavitation from the additional boost in power/less restriction).

Are you able to hear your Tial BOV with the engine hatch shut? Got any videos of it?

@haknslash I went with the Riva replacement filter. Initially i achieved the same mph as you, then I started playing around with the water flow. After I did tbe dedicated water line, I felt maybe too much water was going to the IC (monitoring outlet flow) so I installed a valve so I could adjust the water flow to the intercooler. Suprisingly, this made a difference in my case. Yes, I can hear the blowoff valve with the hatch closed. But as you know, these motors are extremely loud anyway so it hasn't been too much of an issue for me.
I don't have any videos but can take one as soon as I get the boat in the water. I have been very impressed with the fizzle, only issue is it does not self drain like the OEM so extra precautions need to be take during winter.
