I go to the Safari ramp too if its full at the other one :D. I will use those small launches and deal w/ the sandbars over the launching in St Andrews park any day of the week! I didn't care for the rough water that gets churned up in that little outing in the park they have you tie off at and the sea wall looked like my boat would have gotten beaten up by it. Hope to see you guys out there if y'all make it down again the same week. Gonna try that kitchen on the water or whatever the food boat is docked.

It is VERY sturdy! I yanked on it very hard and tugged my boat around in the garage with it lol. Pretty excited this may be a good foundation to start from with a single jet.

There is so much suction power that when you unlatch it you better be sure your hand is out of the way as I found out it will smack you pretty dang hard upon release!!! Keep hand away from latch! Or else....

I can imagine :D

Interestingly when I was ordering my stuff on amazon it told me other people recently bought laynards so I found this bright colored one with a carabiner I may buy. I like the bright color for the water. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003E3TJT8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Another with higher load capacity. Not that the suc gate is going to be overly heavy anyways. https://www.amazon.com/US-15-TL-Working-Carabiner-Lanyard-Designed/dp/B00SCD37KC/ref=pd_sim_469_5?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00SCD37FM&pd_rd_r=JV75XS3C376D7X4AR9PW&pd_rd_w=7zAJO&pd_rd_wg=RQzi6&refRID=JV75XS3C376D7X4AR9PW&th=1

I am not gonna try putting it on the side of the hull that's for sure. It feels strong enough to pull up the vinyl graphic lol! I was playing with it around the house and stuck it on our french door glass and it feel like I could rip the door off if I wanted too :D

haha no secrets @Rod5 :D

My King Starboard sheet took forever to ship from Amazon and hopefully arrived today. Weather hasn't been great for boating lately so hopefully I can get out this weekend to test it.

Cool man! I've been dialing in the new Wake Wedges I just got last month and about finished all my stereo upgrades, but dealing with lots of blown db651 speakers now. Going to try and pick this back up too in the next couple weeks. We'll have some good data and stories to compare in PCB next month! :)

I am hoping we will still get to go to PCB. My father in law recently got laid off at his job of 40+ years so it may affect when and where we stay if we still get to go. We always chipped in and rented a huge condo for all the families so not sure what it going to happen now. hopefully we are still gonna make it cause my ass is ready for a vacation from work!!

Awe man what a bummer! So hope things work out for everyone and certainly understand if you're not able to make it. If you end up delaying or going later in the year let me know, we tend to make several summer and fall trips to PCB...

Not DIY. . . .but interesting. Wonder if this will get it low enough in the water to have any impact.

IMO It's not going to work if it mounts on the side of the hull. They are all the same doesn't matter if it's ronex, wake shapers, delta, etc. The only way you're going to get one on the side deep enough to do anything is making a very tall wedge and then figure out some way to suction it not only on the side of the boat but also underneath on the V. This is why I went with under the swim platform as it gets it low in the water without having to be tall. https://jetboaters.net/threads/diy-surf-gate-v1-0.15283/

Unfortunately I've had a string of shitty luck with personal life and haven't had time to get my boat in the water in over a month. More testing to come at some point in the offseason.

Yeah I’m hoping that’s their plan to go under the swim platform.

After looking at this I went to their website and it says they are coming out with a jetboat solution!

https://www.wakesurfedge.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4Lzmsvfv1gIVgVqGCh203wdoEAAYAiAAEgLgU_D_BwE
I agree with @haknslash - these guys don't know what they are really dealing with. If anyone is going to make this wedge thing work, it would be him, no doubt. But it is a very tough problem, I think.

Like @haknslash said, the issue is getting the wedge/shaper positioned where it would actually move the water, and that is tricky enough with the hull shape under transom/swim platform, and lets not forget - the boat is usually listed and the non-surf side is up (out of the water)!

But even more difficult issue, I think, is that even if you get a wedge device to do what it is intended to do - induce delayed convergence (by pushing water away on the non-surf side) - you now have a different problem: the boat is going to steer towards the non-surf side and you need to compensate that by... turning your jets towards the surf side... (and strait into the wake - basically ruining the surf surface). The JCYAMAHA wedge may be able to alleviate that but may need to be adjusted and it is far from ideal - ideally you would want the jet-wash to "collaborate" with a side-wedge (shaper) to induce delayed convergence.
