There are those of us that have been on this or the old forum for 15 years and have seen "Fin Wars" Episodes 1-35....so we get a little punchy when Episode 36 starts. What we forget is that some might not have seen any episodes of "Fin Wars" so for them this is all new territory. Sorry for the squirrels

Here is episode #1 if you have trouble sleeping tonight! :winkingthumbsup":muted: (single handedly doubles the old sites daily traffic with one URL link! LOL)
Nice walk down memory lane, even if it is a divisive subject. Thanks for the link, I had completely forgotten about tonto's "trumpet player in green" gif!

Regarding the ongoing arguments... I stay out of them. I've done business with both Jeff and Will. Great products and great sales/service experiences with both. Both are longtime contributors to this community whose knowledge, experience, and participation I value.

I kind of agree. This is a head-scratcher... I saw one of the two clips before it was deleted.
(Both were promptly taken down upon @Foobar's flag/notice/objection.)
Re-posting videos without permission is something that most of us have done in the public domain. However, editing, blurring faces, obscuring credits - that's different. It pisses me off just as much as anyone else here what the hell is going on with all the heated fin rhetoric. I do wish unethical advertising and behavior could be avoided.

As far as the fins are concerned however, JBP fins may work great in many situations, fishing, currents etc. For water sports and control at speed - that's Cobra territory. I guess I am with the "don't throw the baby out with the bath water" camp.

I've been around long enough to tell you that is categorically not one vendor BS.

For anyone who is interested in improving their jet boat steering - there is a lot of good information on this forum, more coming, and it's pretty easy to parse out facts and reality from bullshit and vitriol.

For anyone else - there's FACEBOOK.

I laugh because my wife says this is my Facebook already! I think it's because I am on here as much as she is on Facebook, but anyways...

For a cooler, I'm a fan of the AO Cooler Stow & Go: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0030J017U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_2e9YAb9R7RCFE

It is specifically designed to fit under boat seats and fit perfectly under the seat on my 232. On the 242, I still put it at the floor of where the port side seat is (as that seat is typically turned inward or toward the back. I also freeze gatorade bottles and use them as 'ice' then sprinkle some ice on top of the bottle in there. That's basically the drink cooler and where the food cooler goes into the closet. I've found this arrangement makes it easy for people to quickly get a drink when they want one...

As for fins, I'm not even going there....I've used both and found the ones I prefer for my own use.

I have an honest question regarding the Cobra Vs. JBP Vs. Logic...

Has anyone questioned why a brand new boat requires aftermarket products to steer properly???

Just a thought...

They steer just fine after you get the hang of it, I don't use any fins and I have zero issues. I guess you can say its the difference between a Harley Wide Glide and a Yamaha R1. Both are motorcycles but they are very different in regards to handling...

Yeah...I guess I wasn't quite as blunt with my swipe at jet boats in general as I thought I was. But yes, with practice and familiarity, anything can become second nature.

Didn't you spend like 10K outfitting your new boat when you got it why would you do that?????? Why would you need to add additional fishing related items to a new fishing boat to make it fish properly?

EXACTLY!!!!! Thank you for proving my point!!!! (see post below)

"So...this is probably gonna ruffle some feathers but it is a simple truth in my opinion.

You can spend $5 on hot dogs and spend $20 on making them taste good by adding buns, condiments, chips etc.

Or you could just buy a $25 steak to start with and be done with it.

Another way of saying it...you can put stripes on a pig, but that doesn't make it a zebra. Learned my lesson with the FSH...and I see others now wearing the same shoes."

We think of it this way and advise our dealers accordingly.

When you buy a motorcycle you may want Aftermarket exhaust because it better suits your taste. The same goes for fins and lateral thrusters and everything else we sell. We want to make the experience even better than it already is!

Yamaha boat owners are some of the most satisfied and enthusiastic boat owners we've seen even when no aftermarket add ons have been added. But many want to plus their experience, not only for themselves but to make docking and other typically high stress maneuvers easier for everyone in the party to become proficient at and sooner than later.

Lateral Thrusters are pretty new but the same scenario is at work here. Many boats have optional bow thrusters added after the fact. We are simply offering the same type of convenience. They make boating easier.

Thank you @robert843 !!!! Couldn't have asked for a better endorsement!
No problem but I think my jab at your new fishing boat was missed lol. I'm not talking about your FSH you had I'm talking about your current boat didn't you spend like $10K plus on making your fishing boat fishable before you took delivery? Same thing as fins I don't use them I don't see the need the same as the previous owner of your boat didn't see the need to have the $10K worth of upgrades you needed but you choose to upgrade those items as you felt the would enhance your experience same as those who choose to put fins on a jet boat.

@JetBoatPilot

Your comparison falls flat....PLEASE name any NEW boat in the 30-70K range that requires bow thrusters to steer or dock properly.

Your comparing 200K + boats that are 35ft + with jet boats that range from 19ft to 24.5ft...really? Many may buy the words at face value but some know better!

Did i replace the electronics? YEP! Did I need to modify or adjust the ride capability (trim tabs) or modify or adjust the handling/steering (fins etc) or modify or adjust the t-top (convert to a hard top) or have to modify or adjust for outriggers (hard top or gunnels)?

No, No, No and No!

Was ready to go from the get go.

Well said. Much better than @ClemsonTiger ’s lame ass hot dog analogy. I think the only place on Earth ketchup, mustard, and onion cost $20 is maybe.......nevermind, nowhere.
