Hi Everyone,

So, I went ahead and purchased the Fizzle Factory Y1000 intercooler and HKS blow off valve for my SVHO. The install went really well and I also removed the stock air box and went with a K&N air filter. In order to make good use of the new mods, I also went with the Maptuner X with the Stage 1 plus tune from Riva Racing.

One of the cool things I did, was to find a better way than tapping a hole in the Intake manifold for the vacuum line to the blowoff valve. I used a 1/4 brass tee and spliced into the map sensor vacuum line. It worked great and I’m looking forward to taking it out for a test run this weekend.

Previously, I was topping out at 53mph and I’m curious what my new top speed is....

Here are some photos of the install.

@SamCF was the one who inspired me after seeing the mods that he’s done.. 👍🏼

That is an excellent combo of mods. Should be somewhere around 58 mph with the 8300rpm limiter. 8600 rpm tune and some impeller work should be 60+ mph.

Can't wait to hear the results.

I’m very interested as well? Have you already done the ribbon delete or a Lucky 13 cone?

I haven’t done the ribbon delete or lucky 13 cone. I have a two friends that did the ribbon delete on there 195’s and it made no difference. I haven’t tried the lucky 13 and I’m looking into if anyone has tried in on the 160mm impeller yet.

Thanks and I can’t wait!! I had contacted Impeller Pros last year regarding, changing or re-pitching the impeller for my 195 after I complete my mods and they said that Yamaha is running a stock 13-21 impeller on the 195’s and there isn’t any need to re-pitch or change it. They said if I changed to a Solas 13-20 it would decrease the top speed. I listened to what they said because I figured they are in the business of selling/modifying impellers and they said I would be wasting my money.

With that being said, I have no idea if this true... I do know that the 195 impeller is different and the jet pump is larger than the 192, to increase thrust and top speed.

What kind of impeller/pitch are you using on your boat?

Outstanding install and setup work - I can't wait to see what improvements in performance you achieve with this setup!

I have a 2017 AR195 (160mm) with the Lucky 13 and it nearly reduces all cavitation. I'm currently running all 3 spacers with no impact on overall top speed and the boat just launches. As for the ribbon delete it did not have a direct impact on overall top speed but it did greatly increase air flow and combined with your CAI and BOV could only help overall performance especially at 8,300 rpms. So far with the Ribbon delete, CAI, Lucky 13 and 1/4 tank of fuel I was able to hit 55.6 mph GPS at sea level with my 5 year old daughter and myself onboard.

Next year I plan on adding the same intercool, BOV and tune, so I'm very interested in your results as you are the first person that I'm aware of with this set up on a 195.

Was the install difficult for the Lucky 13?
The Lucky 13 is one of the easiest mods I have done. I think from start to finish it maybe took me 20 minutes.

I'm running a custom pitch 13/17.5 Solas to run 8550 rpm. Your 13/21 might hold rpm down too much. Easy to repitch though. The Solas Concord is the fastest for the SVHO skis. A 13/18 with a 8600 rev limit would have you moving.

Impros was right about the 13/20 slowing down your STOCK boat. When you tune, the biggest benefit is raising the rev limiter. You will probably need to repitch lower to take advantage of that.

Wow, that’s great results especially with the tower catching the wind.

That make absolute sense! I’ll let you know how it goes.

I went with WetWolf Adjust-A-Cone instead of lucky 13. It's pretty much the same except for the cost. i dialed it in to what I was looking and am very pleased with the results. Trust me, they DO make a difference.

So, I took it for a test run today and the mods made a significant difference. It was 85° two people, full tank of fuel, 150 pounds of stereo equipment and gear. I topped out at 58 mph (GPS) @ 8200 rpm. There was no cavitation, but I think I’ll see 60 mph with the 8500 rpm tune and either the lucky 13 or wet wolf cone. @SamCF was pretty spot on with his estimate.

Very nice results. There is another 5 mph left in it with a little more work.

The next step is to raise rev limiter and depitch the impeller. Cavitation will become more of a problem the lower you pitch the impeller though.

I bet it feels like a rocket to 50 mph now.

And that was with the stock impeller?

Great post. Glad I found it. Just purchased our ‘18 SX195 new this season. Over the next year or so I want to be able to crack 60mph with a light load. Seems like you guys have laid out the formula. I’ll be following this thread.
