If you tie up with friends a lot and walk between boats, that kit is priceless.

Started and completed an upgrade/update today.
Added 3” sound absorbing foam to the rear and side walls of the engine compartment.
Simple in theory, just measurecut and glue.
In my case I relied on measurements for the rear wall foam and made paper templates for the side wall foam.
I will put the finishing touches on it tomorrow.

@Ronnie, @F.M. - I forgot to include a picture of the package. Beckson Clipper Clips. I got the 2" size because that was the largest I could find. I wish they were a bit bigger, but they work. Today will be my first time on the water with them. Seem pretty secure to me

Thanks. I just ordered five from great lakes skipper.com for about $20 including shipping.

FYI - The 2” version is not currently available on Amazon and I couldn’t find anything even close to 2” on McMaster Carr’s site.

Does the sound proofing also keep the heat in? How does it get out?

The sound absorbing foam does not cause a noticeable increases in engine compartment temperature.

My latest installation just completes what I started years ago. That is I just added 3” to the back and side walls which already had a 2” foil covered layer on them (the front wall and top only have 4” of foam on them).

The original ventilation system is still in place which consists of two fans and four ducts (two intake and two output).

I took temp readings before and after my initial install of the foam and didn’t notice any change at all but Still try to remember to keep the fans on whenever I’m at idle. Misc. thought, even with 4” to 5” of material surrounding the engines, there is still a lot more room around them than the same engine in a Waverunner.

Still, I recently found the thermometer I used in the past and will install it again to get new readings on the modified installation. The hard part may be finding my original readings.

I did take before and after decibel readings and recall the results being inconclusive/confusing. That is, the decibels would drop compared to the baseline at some rpms ranges and rise at other rpm ranges. For what it is worth, my crew and I do feel like there was an overall improvement / reduction in engine noise.

Got the Riva ribbon delete, started to do it then realized that I have the new plastic manifold cover that I thought was only on 2019 models and later (mine is 2018) which means that the manifold needs to be removed, fuel rail needs to be disconnected and the ribbon needs to be drilled out. That’s too much for my skill set right before boating season so decided not to at this time.

Today I only did a few little things to the boat like covered the foil tape around the engine compartment hatch with gorilla tape (just to make it more presentable) and moved two of the eye screws on the lower shelf on the head compartment so I could put up a bungee barrier / wall if needed. Finally, I replaced the screws that held the dash and accessory panels with stainless steel versions (left overs from the speakers).

The starboard hull decal started flaking off at the edges as I inspected it, so I peeled it off completely. I also removed the tint from the center window which already had several bad scratches/gaps in it. I did this on my last Yamaha and liked it that way, it makes it easier to see out especially through the front side window when the center window is folded over it.

I have taken it out one time since the install and no issues. My hull is darker, but I will keep and eye out and try to reply back to this post in a month or 2.

@crazy4life Just an update on the new guides. We loaded up the other day and it was super windy. We came in a bit sideways to counter the wind and as we got close as I was about to make final adjustments, the wind just died.... This cause me to over correct for the wind and we bumped the new guides pretty good. No damage to the guides and they held their ground as I was hoping for, but the rubber roller did leave a rubber rub mark on the hull. It easily wiped clean. Now on to the next upgrade..... I ordered one of THESE in Silver/Zinc . We'll see how they work on the 210 FSH..... That'll be another post..... stay tuned for it next week.

Nothing too exciting, but did install some new registration decals and added a few pieces of sea deck..plan on stereo mods and sea deck on the swim platform next..
