Texas/Oklahoma area Gathering this summer at Broken Bow July 25th weekend

I'm coming over in 82 toward Paris. Should I jump north out if there and come across 70 or further east and whatever that road is that is more direct from 82?

I talked to @PEARCE on the phone. Looks like us East-Dallas people will be going through Greenville to Paris, then north to Hugo, then East to Idabel, then north to Broken Bow.

North-Dallas people may choose to go through Bonham to Paris, and then the same route after that.

From Paris, Google Maps is suggesting we go on 195 to 37 towards Idabel. It looks more direct....is going north to Hugo then east to Idabel the faster option?

There are some real up and down hills up there. Direct may not be real surge brake friendly. I just don't know the route with lost level terrain.

@Christy that 195 may look to be more direct, but 271 north out of Paris is a divided 4 lane with a 70-75 mph limit all the way to 70. Once on 70 it's a 65-70 divided 4 lane and some 2 lane, but a very good road. Take the by-pass to Broken Bow if you don't want to go through Idabel.

@txav8r take 82 to the loop in Paris and take 271 north to Hugo. Then 70 east like the rest of us.

Sounds good Pearce. Don't drink all the damn beer before I get there!;)

Where'd all the rum go?

Rum? @Bruce got me thinking about blue hawaiians. Or a blueberry martini mix...but I would miss my vino! Does the pizza joint serve booze too or just beer/wine? I like they have cigars! But I will bring a Bauza!

I may be a southern Okie, but I have never been to Broken Bow. So, I have no idea.

@Silverfish I was serious when I offered you guys a ride on the boat this weekend. Just holler if you guys want to go.

I think they have a full bar. But don't count on it. They are the Grateful HEAD for the head on a glass of beer.

That's my plan on the way up, 195. I will RTB a different way if I don't like it...

I forgot this was this weekend. We just got home from eating at The Blue Rooster. Got company visiting from out of town this weekend. Thanks for the invite but with our company there is 7 of us in all. You guys have fun!

We have room for 7 if you want.

Just finished replacing the bunks. We are good to go for tomorrow. See y'all soon.

20140724_202940-2.jpg The boat tied to the dock at a local lake while we replaced the trailer bunks in the parking lot.

Nice sunset Travis! Clara made a macaroni salad for out side dish besides the guac and chips. I made a jug of cranberry vodka blush for a refreshing hot weather iced drink. I have to reload all the gear into the boat from its visit to PD, and tried the new fusion out with iPod internally...now I am going to LIKE that! Clara
Trying to get off early, so we may roll in around 7 if all goes well. Pizza, cigars, and beer?

We are bringing red skin potatoe salad.

We are bringing Bimini bread to leave with @txav8r who is bringing the bread knife.

sounds interesting Bruce...

We will be at Grateful Head around 7.

You guys have a GREAT time. Sorry we can't make this one, maybe we will see you another time.:)
