New 19 FT Yamaha Surf Package

Water was 66, so I was able to surf a bit today. Coaster was definitely much faster than the Rocket. Easily able to go ropeless with just the fatsac on the surf side. My wife rode it without the fatsac and was starting to get a bit of slack with no other surf mods. Love the board @J-RAD!

Finally back from the lake with decent service. Only had my 7 year old able to take pictures, so not the best. Wave was better at than this at proper speeds, but this is just the fatsac, no wedge, and no speed control. Me at 170lbs and a soaked wetsuit able to go ropeless.

I tried out my DIY wakesurf maker on my 17’ AR195 this weekend. It doubled the wake and decreased the distance from the boat by the same amount. There’s much more perpendicular push from behind as well. I just order a coaster XR and looking into a transom fatsac to get wakesurf maker a little further into the water. Top after, bottom before.

Does this mean there is only one hardware piece/size for the booster itself?
I have the transom bag, a ski locker bag and the Slingshot Coaster board, so would only need the booster and maybe make it fit on my older 2012 AR190

I don’t plan on taking pictures but this is what I used. It wasn’t too hard to make if you have a welder, band saw, grinder, oxyacetylene, and taps. Just design it out of cardboard/ hot glue and then duplicate it out of metal.

1/8” steel sheet 7”x24”
1/4” steel sheet 7”x24”
1”x 8” aluminum solid rod
1” steel hollow tube
Picture frame stainless wire
Paint or powder coat
Gatorskinz anti skid

I did end up buying a 19 fatsac transom and pieced together my own pump. I have the coaster xr that hasn’t seen the water either. All 3 of my lakes have been on fire here in Arizona for 2 weeks. Hopefully they get put out by next weekend.

I bought the wakebooster package for my AR195S and I have gotten out on it twice so far. Placed the ballast bags as they recommended, but haven’t been able to go ropeless yet. I’ll try the bag on just one side as another poster suggested, but curious on other suggestions people have for making this work without a bunch of other mods.

With the swim platform ballast bag I was able to surf ropeless with the Slingshot Coaster, the one that yamaha has in the set for the bigger boats.
Just the wave doesn't look that great and the boat needs to be listed, which I would like to avoid.

I wasn't able to either with the 2 x 200lb bags (I'm 210 lbs). I now use a 650 lb and a 200lb bag on the transom with a 63 inch board and it works. It's easy to install from the water or the boat.



The angle of the wakebooster is adjustable and you can fine tune the wave / push zone for length or height.

Thanks! Probably time to invest in a bigger ballast bag I will try fiddling with the angles though to see if I can get a steeper wave.

My daughter is able to go ropeless easily with the 2 bags on one side and an additional 200lbs surf side and 230lb driver surf side and 200lbs people weight opposite surf side.. I was planning to do the same setup as above but didnt getthe boat in the water this weekend. So Im happy to see that it looks like a step in the right direction.

So after reading all of this, do you think the wake booster was worth the money? Or are you better off just buying transom fat sac and using a basic wake shaper, I already have a mission delta, haven’t tried to use it yet. Just picked up a 2015 Yamaha AR192x
