two years ago as part of my continual rehab of this beast I thought I would replace some blown bulbs in the dash so I could actually see my speed and temp gauge at night.

along with replacing the bulbs I pulled the dash cluster and dusted/wiped down the gauges, when I put it all back together my oil gauge which previously worked correctly would stay at below low for a few minutes and then go to normal, sometimes it would go to high and now it just sits at below low and barely moves ( I have correct oil reading at the dipstick )

I'm guessing it's a grounding issue but is this something behind the gauge or could I have messed it up from the front side when wiping it down and moving the indicator arm ??

I've pulled the dash bezel again, my tank selector switch broke so I'd like to take a look at the oil gauge and fix it if possible,

Thanks for any advice,

@zipper @Babin Farms

Does the dash have that large ribbon that connects to all of the gauges? I had some issues with one of my older trucks after I took it in for a repair.

It does sound like a grounding issue somewhere…
