2018 Bimini June trip (June 24th - June 30th)

20180626_225724.jpg
Somebody is doing alright up here at fake bimini

I apologize for not remembering names....but could the guy who borrowed my snorkel mask for his wife to try let me know what unit you’re in and when I can stop by to pick it up? Or maybe I can meet you out by the docks in the morning.

Great idea with the tracking spreadsheet!

Anyone know what kind of shape 14E is in??
Yesterday I checked with Rentals at Bimini Sands and was told that there would not be any moves for our June group. However if the stairs are not completed or who knows what else changes .....

Yeah the lie we were given was AC. This has been my problem with the Sands this year is the lies we are all adults and crap happens but just tell the truth about it.

Thanks for the thoughts. The logistics, and risk are definitely some huge considerations. I had considered making it an "adults only" trip for us and another couple. Fly/ferry the ladies over and let me and a buddy take the risks. I suspect my wife would be much like yours and I much like you. Time of the life for me, literally scared for her life and afraid to say anything for her. We'll see how it goes on future planning. There are some honest and hard conversations to be had there I think.

I really do appreciate the inputs from all. If we get serious about making the journey you better believe my question list will expand in a hurry!

Best wishes to all that are there now. Safe travels and safe return voyage! If I was a praying man I'd say a few for you all.
Plan for it only if you are an adrenaline junky. And do not let the wife cross the first time over. If my wife had come with me on my first trip I would never had made it past the first 30 minutes without being forced to turn back. As it was only me on the first trip I had zero concerns about others on my boat and was razor focused on Bimini crossing. I loved every minute of that wild ride.

My unit 21 I is in excellent shape. Very well taken care of. It has a few minor quirks but that is to be expected in Bahamas.

What is everyone doing tomorrow?

@Betik I hope you made it home safe and sound.

I did make it make back earlier today. In had to drive the last stretch ( 168 miles) with a bent axle. It bits being striken by lightning though, so although tired as hell I am happy to be hope

Not sure what the AC status of those condos is. Certainly there are a number of AC problems throughout.

Being on the ground what is the status of the stairs to the upper condos?

"We are here in 7L and 7R now. A/C took 24 hours to cool. Good now. Water pressure low — 7L kitchen sink unusable. TVs don’t work (we don’t care but if you do bring AA and AAA batteries for remotes — we think). Wifi not connecting in either unit. Bring some light bulbs. Could use a few more pillows and towels (we have 8 people). We’ve washed all the dishes and silverware.

Upside, units are furnished well. Leather sectional, 6 seat wood dining table in 7L. A/C is working."

Thanks - glad the AC is working or I would be looking to stay somewhere else! On the Wifi - have you tried connecting an ethernet cord to the router? I was really hoping for WiFi!

We are on in 5h.. We have had no issues other than a very small supply of dishes but that no problem.. If u are asking about the stairs to the upper condos in building 14 that building is right behind us. It looks like one set has been rebuilt and is new. Unpainted as of yet but the other stars look fine.

One new management comes in I wonder how / if things will improve next year.

I think it’s pwd/config issues. You can probably sort it out easy. I’m getting ready to go fishing now instead :)

I won't call it fake but it was weird being at the casino in Bimini last night. I fully expect to try and stay there the next time I'm here.

We boated up to the casino for dinner last night. Cha ching burgers!!! Casino was pretty dead and the roulette had a $10 min bet.

We boated back slow slow and were buzed by 2 non illuminated local boaters. Didnt like that

Seas look awesome. We’ll be beading to the sapona about the same 10ish time frame

We were 4 people. 3 Wines $11 ea. 3 Draft beers $10ea. 4 burgers i think $12ea. Total was $150. Tip included. We ate in the casino. The restaurant in the lobby was alot more expensive and smaller menu

We are in 3d. Washer machine dead. Ice cube tray leaks. AC works fine. I think the TV is dead. Typical water pressureless. Came with beach towells and coffee filters (funnel type not basket)

Great view!!

Update on 2A so apparently condo was just recently sold. When we return this afternoon we SHOULD have all new water faucets, shower heads, furniture and refrigerator as all of this was sitting outside when arrived back yesterday. Gaylord met us at the condo to let us know. Fingers crossed.

Absolutely, we are in 1a. I sent you a PM last night about it, I'm the same guy who brought the extr toilet paper.
