This may be a good option for anyone who does not have a plotter.
Raymarine has a Fathers Day sale on plotters.
The $299 deal on the closeout A78 touchscreen plotter with a transom mount transducer is a particularly good deal.
I am uncertain if these deals come with charts. If not you may be able to use free Light House Charts or you may wish to buy Navionics charts which could cost $150 to $250 for your chosen area.

My best time is 1 hour 40 minutes (averaged 36 mph for the roughly 60 mile trip), it would be nice to beat that time.Florida to bimini in 1 hour and 10 min!!!
Thank you for sharing this deal Bruce! I just ordered the A78. It does NOT come with charts, FYI. BTW, I am still trying to find insurance that will cover the Bimini trip. Is there a thread where I can learn about the options? I am guessing this group must have discussed this topic given all the money we are all spending on our boats and the risks involved with the trip. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Was that coming or going Andy?
That was my first trip going to Bimini in 2011. Coming home was a little rough but we still made it in just over 2 hours. Was that coming or going Andy?
I just went back and looked at the in reach tracks we actually made it from West End to West Palm in just under 2 hours last year so we were not far off that pace since its about 8 miles further. The impressive part of that is we had already cleared 140 miles on skis and were still able to hold that pace. I just wish the crossing over had went that well lol.

My track shows we left Treasure Cay at 0717 and I arrived in Palm Beach at 1424. This would have been faster if Cindy didn't slice the top of her foot open just outside of West End.That was a good run. Definitely my most enjoyable crossing the stream. Didn't realize we were going that fast though. I do remember having a few short burst around 40mph. What does your tracking data show our total return trip time? Just curious...

I dont see why this will slow you down! Didn't God bless her with 2 feet?....This would have been faster if Cindy didn't slice the top of her foot open just outside of West End.
Wth did she do?
Wth did she do?
A year later without getting stitches it healed pretty good. Now this tough chica is ready to damage the other foot, haha.
