Another Disappointment with the Scarab Jet Boat and REC Boat Holdings

Ha! You said Marine Max. Problem solved.

I bought it from Riva. I would but it is such a long ass drive. Im going to give this one more shot in Orlando. Im feeling like at this point if I drive it to Riva I won't be bringing it home.
Ive never hated a piece of machinery ever like this. I remember my first car... It was a real POS and it didn't breakdown as much as this boat. I loved that car!

Again?

If you won't go to RIVA and insist on coming to Orlando, give Southeast Marine a call. Explain to them your issue and see if they can help you. They're an authorized Seadoo dealer, but do not sell any jetboats that I am aware of. When I've inquired about prices for repairs on my boat, they were always ready to do the work, so I feel confident in saying they are capable of working on jetdrives.
Number is: 407-851-1965

Thanks... I called Orlando and they are so busy couldn't take me till next week. Cocoa MM called and have room so when I get back from vacation I will drag it down there. Thanks for the info guys.

Just out of curiosity,...why are you going back to Marine Max,...let alone a different Marine Max location? If you don't mind me saying that if you do things the same way over and over again expecting a different result; that's a sign of craziness.

I'm wondering the same thing. Hope is the strongest human emotion. I'm hoping it falls off the trailer.

Awe, C'mon now,....:(

Update...
O2 sensor bad... 5 or 6 now... (2nd for this motor).
One bad spark plug.

ALSO... LOOK OUT!!!
This was mentioned before so I had them check. My BOAT CLEATS WERE LOOSE. The techs only could get to the front and back ones. So that's awsome.
Got the boat finished quick so thanks Cocoa MM.

PapaBear, if you've lost that many '02 sensors,...it's because your cat is bad. It's corroding internally and leaking water on the 02 sensor. The fix is to get the cat replaced, which is covered under warranty through BRP.

At the risk of sounding like an idiot, I sure hope this thing only runs a rear 02 sensor, otherwise you're both providing some piss poor information here. My instincts tell me if it does indeed only use 1 sensor, it's a front sensor, and you're both WAY off the mark. My apologies in advance if my assumptions are incorrect, and they are just assumptions at this point.

Thanks guys. I will call MM and ask. Now I know I got a new engine not long ago but I'm pretty sure it was just the block. So I'm sure these problems will follow.

Scarab has two 02 sensors. See pictures to back up my piss poor information. In the South or in Salt water conditions, the silver Catalytics have been corroding internally and leaking. BRP has been replacing the Cats for people since the corrosion and leaks have been eating up O2 sensors over a short period of time. ***Please Note, the issues are with SILVER CATS, not the updated Black one used today.***

I'm surprised papa bear's boat is still having issues. This string alone would keep scarab jet boats off of my list of jet boats to consider purchasing. 5 or 6 bad sensors now! Boating season has started and will be over before I know it, it's way too short to have a non operational boat.

IMO - this story is really unbelievable and I think this does a good job at making prospective buyers stay away from Scarab. Sorry - no direspect. This is the internet and this story does not add up for me. Just saying

Ron, I noticed mine was cracked at the flange, Seems like Someone "MM" over tightened it at some point. Ill Follow up with a photo once this rain lets up and I can access the boat. How Can i go about getting it replaced with the new version since its damaged anyhow?

Have them pull that cat out and dissassemble it. If the flange lips are all corroded, the dealer will have to make the warranty claim thru BRP. They will send the updated BLACK cat out for replacement.

I was trying to avoid going back to them again...... Don't want to lose the boat for the season over something that's not a real issue or causing problems.

Well, do it before the warranty is up big guy!

I missed almost the entire first summer with my brand new boat. June to end of August in the shop
