I'm seeing quite a few of y'all recommending fuses..... is it a normal occurrence to blow a fuse?
It is not common but occasionally it happens. The factory fuses are a 20 amp in the house circuit near the battery(s) and those in the ECU. There should be spares under the ECU covers.

I blew a fuse 2 summers ago. There was no actual malfunction, it just wore out.

The best that I can tell, several start cycles in the same day, while tubing etc.... must have overheated and wore it out. There were no spares on board and we had to limp back on one engine.

There are spots in the EEC fuse area for spares. Now mine has them...

In addition to several items that have already been mentioned I also carry an extra 6 pack of Bud in the cooler as well as a spare rubber strap that secures the rear ladder.

The usual stuff (Throwable, Flare Gun [req. international waterways], Fire Extinguisher in addition to auto engine FE, First Aid kit, Bumpers, Chained Anchors x2 & Sand Stake, Microfiber rag, gloves-wakeboarding/engine work, sunblock, pool noodle, WAKEBOARD, SLALOM, more ROPES)
I keep my mooring covers on the boat - If I get caught in a heavy downpour, I can stay dryer and not have to bilge as much
Tool Set including ratchet set, SPlug Socket, knife(ves), adjustable wrench medium, screw drivers
Electrical and Duct Tape
Tow harness and rope - to tow others
Shovel and Roll of Carpet to go with the Duck tape and Roap (JUST KIDDING!)
Haven't ordered these just yet but this is a must do -> Pre-gapped Spark Plugs - NGK / Pulstar

I need to follow @itsdgm advise and get various Zip Ties, Lighter, double set of Fuses!, Silicone and Anti-Seize compound. Honorable mention to @txav8r with great ideas on cleaner and cleanout plugs.

Got a dislike...hmmm. Just keepin' it real. Yamahas don't have these problems.
They don't until they do like when my 2019 1.8L HO injector wire broke in the middle of the water. Not fun.

@BarbaraAnn Good list up there. It's pretty comprehensive. You may also want a secondary anchor or shore spike in case you anchor near shore and want to prevent swinging. Another thing to be careful of is Towing other boats. USCG says we need to stop and render aid up to a point that does not put our passengers or crew in danger. And in many localities, once you tie a rope onto another boat to tow them, then you're automatically liable for the other boat and people.

I've had several instances where others on Lake Tahoe have flagged me down for help and a tow. I've stopped to offer help and instead of a Tow, I offer to call Sea Two for them. This is always gratefully accepted.

It's been almost 3 years since my post asking... I have in my hands spare whole jet pump with impellers, spare fuel float, and two starters.

What saved me twice was the ability and tools to disconnect the lanyard switch on the dock, on two different occasions a year apart.

Sorry, the new boats do have issues that the old bullet proof ones don't. I guess you could order a bunch of parts and keep them on the boat for the newer models.

I had old boats - plenty of maintenance and repairs. I have new boats, plenty of maintenance and repairs, but many are fully covered under warranty. That doesn't necessarily offset the additional cost of the new boat, however :). Do your math carefully but 1st, get what you want. You will enjoy it much more!

Would you recommend having a spare lanyard switch? Did you actually replace it twice?

I suspected the lanyard switch on one of my starting issues once. I used some switch cleaner and pulled and reinserted it a few times. No issues since. I would be more inclined to carry a small can of switch cleaner (more multipurpose).

But I would recommend having a spare lanyard...

I managed to get it working again the first time by taking it home and activating it many many times and using some silicone spray on it.

Second time I replaced it with one I made.

No need to keep a spare if your have my style, you can disconnect to run the boat that day.

I have 2 cents to add!
Ok just 2 items
The pins that hold the bimini top in place.
I had one of the safety wires give out and lucky the pin landed in the boat. Purchased 2 spares - rewired the old one, and the very next trip it went missing anyway.

Another trip- both of the front bimini top anchor points gave out in a gust. We were an hour and a half away from home with no shade. Luckily it was the metal and not the fiberglass. But if had spares it would have made the trip so much nicer. 16yr old boat

I'm going to order some rubber bungs of various sizes. If hose/scupper blows off you can jam a bung in and save the boat. Carried these on cruisers in case a through hull blew.
