Bimini 2018

One thing I do recommend to all when planning is give yourself as much time as possible to travel and plan to arrive early if you can. Even though dates are set this far out its not unlikely that dates could have to be moved up or back a day or two to hit a crossing window and it's better to plan for that now then have to figure it out last second or worse cancel your trip. I plan to be in Ft lauderdale Friday early afternoon even with a Monday departure. This gives me a four day crossing window with Friday afternoon, Saturday, Sunday and Monday all in play to cross if needed. Not saying you should plan a four day window like me but I would try to plan a three day window if you have the availability.

Our cannon ball run to fl will be a few days early from our target departure day as well. After working rotating shifts i just learned i like driving at nigjh better. Little to no traffic.

This is why we are going to run to tampa and visit my wife's sister beforehand. If needed we skip her and go straight across then visit her after the trip.

IF we can make it next year we will be there mid Saturday. We must be past the Palm Coast FL weigh station on I-95 by Friday sunset.

Well, it's official, I'm being transferred.
After doing some more research, we are still planning to join in 2018.
Being an oversized permitted load, I can only travel during daylight, and I have to be past the last weigh station before noon on Saturday. I also only have a 200 mile fuel range, so the max I can do is 600 miles per day. We will be leaving Wednesday late afternoon from Kansas City, and be there early Saturday afternoon.
I-70 to St. Louis, I-55 to Memphis, I-22 to to Birmingham, I-65 to Montgomery, US-231 to I-10 to I-75, then the Turnpike.

So the real question is which Saturday?

@Speedling
@Bruce already told me but made me promise not to tell anybody... :D:D:D
Just kidding, I'm just as anxious to find out as you are! :)
I know Bruce does his best to make it work for everyone. Typically seems 2nd week of July. but I don't think we all realize how much it takes to negotiate rates and everything!

I'm sure it takes a lot of work, and I'm sure @Bruce is seriously underappreciated for all he does.
I do hope it's NOT the 2nd week in July.
July 4th is a Wednesday (no oversize loads allowed) which would make it impossible for me to get to Ft. Lauderdale before Monday afternoon.

@Berrie the word on the street is that there will be 2 outings.
1 in June & 1 in July, so you can choose and pick which works best for you.
I recall Bruce mentioning that it gets really grounded on July 4th in Bimini, so he tents to avoid it.

six more months ..........:jimlad:

@Betik The probability of you winning that bet is high :)

My future minivan is going to have 375 hp on the engine.
