Bimini 2019 July 7th (Bahia Mar) depart July 8th for Bimini return July 13th

As a government contractor I was just stating what we are hearing, there is in fact a travel warning, but I have not read it in detail. Personally I am not worried at all and do not plan to chain my boat up. I am at Bimini Big Game Club.

I have not called Bahia Mar yet, probably need to. I have my room but not my slip. Agreed we are only at 5-6 at the moment.

I’m trying to make it. Do more people usually join the trip closer to time?

I would recommend that you plan and be ready as if you are really going rather than scramble at the last minute. Your issue might be ( lack of ) accommodations as they fill up pretty fast.

Plus scrambling at the last minute does not give you time to do all the necessary boat "upgrades" that might be needed... GPS, VHF, etc etc

Preparation is KEY to anything in life. This is not something to "try" or "check out". Prepare (read, watch, ask questions and do the mods) for the worst and hope for the best IMHO, will insure a safe and enjoyable trip.

Thanks for the advice, we are getting the boat ready. I’m just trying to figure out the dates with our work schedule. It’s our first trip, we are very excited and trying to see when we can make it work.

Looks like Resort World is full for those dates. Looking at what else is available now.

We're in a cottage room at Bimini big game club. Marina is visible from rooms.

@LayneG how many in your party? Plan to cook much or eat out more?

My wife and I for sure, my brother or cousin may come along as well (both of them also have 2017 242's). I would say we will eat out at least once per day.

Our plan is lunch on the boat almost every day and mix if grilling out and going out. We can coordinate a couple dinners if you end up at Big game club

That sounds like a good plan.

Let me know if you do, I’m right next to BGC. This is where I’m staying.

I will also have my grill and tank and will be BBQ at most places that we will be cruising to

How’s Verizon cell coverage there?
