Bouncy Shoreland'r Trailer? Carlisle Stands Behind Their Product

UPDATE: My new TSB brackets seem to have fixed the issues so far! I've towed over a 1,000 miles this season since the dealer installed the new upgraded brackets, including a 630 mile round trip to PCB FL a couple weeks ago and no signs of cracking.
Fenders do not shake in the mirrors like before with the original flimsy brackets. And I did NOT change the tires, I'm still on the original non-radial tires.
By this time last year cracks were appearing on both the brackets themselves and on the diamond plate covers.

I talked to Robyn and she made the process very easy... Also made mention that this happens very often.. They are sending me 5 new tires and paying for mounting, balancing and repairs to the fenders. That to me is a big customer service win! Discount Tire quoted me $125 to mount and balance the 5 new tires so they will at least get that out of it... I also lost 2 bolts on the Shelbyville trip and its only 230 miles or so each way for me.
Can you make a call for me to get the deal you got? :jawdrop:  :winkingthumbsup"

I noticed when I left the house yesterday that the trailer seemed quite a bit more noisy than it has been in the past. A lot of squeaking, I checked the fenders and they seem okay. Anyone else experience this?

Yes, I have in the past. I made sure that all my grease points were full and I sprayed lube on my leaf springs. It didn't help. I didn't spray any of the bunk pivots though. Some times it's pretty quiet, other times it is squeaky.

I just bought my 2016 SX240 used from a guy in Maine. I have the issue with the tires on the trailer. Do you think I am still covered since I bought it used? The email I got from Carlisle is requesting the Bill of Sale for the trailer.....I have one from the guy I bought from but not one from a Yamaha dealer

So how long did it take to get answer from Carlisle that they will replace the tires? I a claim/case # real fast and I sent my pictures in early last week. I got a confirmation that they got my pictures but no word on if I am covered for the replacement tires. I pretty sure I am. I follow up yesterday and still no word back.

Anyone now if maybe they got hit by Erma? Not sure where they are located exactly.....
Anyone know if I am covered even though I am the second owner of the trailer? I think I should be...

I called Shoreland'r Service Department per the Midwest Industries Fender correction bulletin (see attached) and spoke with Mr. Bolles. He asked me to send him some pics of my trailor VIN and the fender mounts and got right back to me and said he is shipping me new fenders. Great customer service. I haven't got them yet but we'll see.

All I know is when I'm driving down the highway the fender Shake pretty bad and I have a 2017 ar240.

I just got confirmation that they are sending me the 5 new tires. When you called did you tell them that fenders were shaking crazy when you were driving? I made sure to say that a few times and how I was concerned about a total trailer failure.

UPDATE I still haven't received my fenders but I called Carlstar (number in first post) and spoke to Robyn and had 5 new radials delivered in about a week. :winkingthumbsup":winkingthumbsup":winkingthumbsup"

Got my new tires on Saturday.

That service bulletin excludes my trailer. Mine is earlier.

That sounds like bs. But I would not be surprised if they honor your claim anyway - I'm not aware of any changes between your trailer and mine. I plan on filing mine soon, my brackets are finally just about ready to fall off - developed big cracks. Apparently I needed to go through my dealer, which we did, have not heard back yet.

7 of 2014 although it's the same trailer. I'll see what they say though.

Are they sending fenders and brackets directly to you or to the dealer for installation?

They sent me the full fenders and brackets. I told them I would install myself because I didn't like my local Yamaha dealer.

My thinking is, why would a tire shop care if my tires are out of round. I'm not going to buy tires from them so they have nothing to gain out of the deal
I took delivery of my AR195 in March of this year (2017). During the 3 hour tow home, I noticed the driver side tire would bounce quite a bit at speeds above 70mph. I thought a simple balance of the tire would solve the problem. My wheels had no weights on them and I rarely see trailers come with balance weights on the wheels. So I took both wheels to my local shop to be balanced. They had a very hard time balancing them due to both wheels (not tires) being out of round. Since they knew the wheels were brand new, they said I should turn in a warranty claim. Which I did through the dealer I bought the boat from. They accepted the claim and swapped them out for two new wheels/tires. They are still the bias ply tires which I still had my shop balance before installing them. It tows great now, zero issues. So this is just an example of an issue not being related to the tires being bias ply.
